khanlad Posted June 13, 2017 Report Posted June 13, 2017 When are we going to sort out meeting to convoy down? Thats if we still want to?
Kenworth W900 Posted June 13, 2017 Report Posted June 13, 2017 I'll be taking the A303 down as my 4-speed doesn't take kindly to motorways and I can't stand the motorways anyway haha. If you get stuck on a motorway there is nowhere to go! At least on the roads you can find another way around. I'm not expecting easy going as it's Glasto weekend. More than happy to attempt to join a mini convoy if one is heading that way - there's safety in numbers, especially in a classic!
khanlad Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 303 looks good to me, any idea what sort of time youre heading down? Any good places to meet up?
khanlad Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 Sounds ok what sort of time is good for people? If we get a few times we can sort something good for most of us?
aardvark101 Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 Convoy down would be great Was looking to go M25/ A303, as pointed out its Glasto weekend so probs Ramo on the M4 and a bit more scenic (Stonehenge) and easier on the 4 speed/cruiser guys G maps says 4.5-5.5 hours, if you factor in stops for fuel / lunch Friday morning bull*hit i would say its a 5-6 hour run I would be looking to leave Southend at 9.00 am to arrive mid afternoon, via Buckfast Abbey that allows plenty of time to get pissed pitched up and sorted out. 1
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted June 14, 2017 Author OSF Contributor Report Posted June 14, 2017 !!!!! Update chaps !!!! Ran the route today with a photographer. There are many animals in and close to roads in certain parts of the route. I would like to give everyone a drivers brief before we head out Saturday morning. Mainly to introduce the photographer(s) so you know who to look out for and any changes to the route. 1
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted June 14, 2017 Author OSF Contributor Report Posted June 14, 2017 Ponys and cows too if your not into sheep.

Would you not be better off leaving 10 rather than 9? M25 at 9 is going to be horrendous
Spot Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 Hummmmm Scott? If your using both cars for the tour? Or just one? Just using the escort on the tour the other is a Sierra Cosworth i take to a garage in Sidmouth for work but it's over a hour from Portland and seems mad to do the same journey twice when we drive past on our way to the moor
Saluki Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 M25 and A303 sounds good to me too. I'm driving down from Dartford in my mk2 Tina (4 speed ) so could convoy with Essex and Kent crew from Clacket Lane 9.30-10 meet and pick up more people at the Fleet Services on the way down. Spot Posted June 15, 2017 Report Posted June 15, 2017 Are you camping in the same tent? We sure are it's just me and the good lady in a ideal world i would pick it up on they way back but the garage is closed fron Saturday afternoon. It's no great drama and i fully understand the camp site has limited room ect but thought if i could buy a cer pass of some sort it may save me a second trip. Cheers Richard
mk2 ben Posted June 15, 2017 Report Posted June 15, 2017 I'll be leaving from bishops castle if anybody from that way wants to convoy down

Cheers Richard As long as you're camping in the same tent and only taking one car on the tour, I'm happy for you just to pay for one camping pass. Just PM me with the second car reg number and I'll ensure it goes on the list. 1
khanlad Posted June 15, 2017 Report Posted June 15, 2017 If you boys are leaving clacket at 10 shall we say be at fleet for 11? Twat nav says 1.15 journey
aardvark101 Posted June 15, 2017 Report Posted June 15, 2017 Right Clacket for 10.00, Fleet for 11.00 M25 is sh*t at any time
stephens_xpack Posted June 15, 2017 Report Posted June 15, 2017 Also starting out from Essex. Convoy sounds cool and will add to the fun. Leaving Clacket at 10 or getting there for 10?
