colr6 Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 Here we have my family treasure, it's been in the family from new and only covered a mere 18k with full dealer history and loads of paperwork ( normally to soak the water up) after an illness it was stored in my sisters garage for a good many years which unfortunately has taken its tole as she lived on a houseboat and it sank ! Retaining all of its original patina as can be seen in the photos, it's very difficult to find another one in its total original condition. I did try and replace the front wing and inner some years ago but purchased some of the new Chinese panels and for some reason couldn't get the wing gaps right so they will need addressing. Did give a thought to re live my youth and always wanted a mk2 rally car, so some of the rear arch has been removed and I was going to fit . 1000hp zetec in so front panel also taken out but family intervention stopped that ( new baby on the way) some of the floor has been removed to aid the fitting of a full weld in cage but can be supplied once I've swept it up and will come in a box labelled n/s and o/s to help with re-enstatement. The colour I believe is Vista orange a very much sought after colour on this model. According to the net this is the only one left like this in this colour so some REAL history there ! V5 is in someone else's name, let's be honest would put your name to it ! I've checked and all panels are availiable for this so with a bit of TLC this could be restored to its former glory and we all know just how much these well sought after cars are worth when done. Will not accept any porches or Ferrari as part ex and please no tyre kickers or joy riders. Would encourage NOT to view to gaurantee you get the full enjoyment of the suprise when you take delivery ! Here's a few pics. If you need any more can send off photo bucket . Can't put a price on this really as its a one time only sale because the car won't last another week in the rain so get your offers in early while it's still here. PS. Did notice while looking round the car there is some slight wear in door hinges. Like to give an honest description and not rip anybody off.
RWL81P Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 i thought it was a chinese shell after 2yrs of british weather!
colr6 Posted October 26, 2017 Author Report Posted October 26, 2017 Forgot to state that the payment should be made to Rally pack 2000 as the money these fetch the funds must go through an offshore account. It's breaking my heart selling this and don't want to be giving a donation to the Taxman. Thanks for your understanding.

mike399 Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 Very funny indeed. Should have a lot of takers on this as it's a so desirable shellSent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
colr6 Posted October 26, 2017 Author Report Posted October 26, 2017 If an escort be it mk1 or 2 has parallel door and wing gaps it's a FAKE ! Ford never produced then like that.
mike399 Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 With a little bit of panel alinment and welding she will be in showroom conditionSent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
mike399 Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 I would think offers in the region of 25k would start a bidding warSent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

RWL81P Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 would you fancy a swap for a nice mk1 twincam? its tawny brown rust colored needs a little tlc, currently on ebay!
colr6 Posted October 27, 2017 Author Report Posted October 27, 2017 Why don't eBay do something about that ! Bet there's no stamped Id marks on that shell, so it's log book sale which I thought was illegal ?

colr6 Posted October 27, 2017 Author Report Posted October 27, 2017 Well your not going to pay vast sums for a bit of memorabilia now are we. We all know there's a perfectly good use for it. SCAMMING some poor bleeder.
stephens_xpack Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 No tyre kickers or joy riders, now that I understand as other people just won't show it the same respect. As long as you sure you get the original sills into the correct boxes, as even I would struggle to replace the left sill on the right and right on the left. I also notice in the picture that the accelerator pedal rubber looks a little worn, are you sure it has been cherished?
accord83 Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 Perished mate, perished, not bleedin' cherished

Seeing I did mention it would be a big of fun to concoct a sales advert ! lets have a few contributions. Get your best sales patter out !
stephens_xpack Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 well, I think a big selling point that you may have missed, is the very rare shortened rally version bonnet, just need the air vent fitted to keep the twin turbo's cool, any Escort know it all knows that these are worth at least 5k on their own, and in their original state - these are really hard to find. Other than that, think you pretty much nailed it. I'd be all over it if I had the cash...gutted.
Rich T Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 Havnt got a trailer or towbar. So im out. Gutted Bet itd still sell on ebay if its still got a V5 and tags...
