Generator...noisey

I bought a small quiet generator. However it's not that quiet and the locals will complain as they complain about everything.

How can I make it a bit quieter . Can I fit another silencer.

Bit of noise suppression required as I often work on the car in the evenings

Id say sorting the exhaust would help. Aldo mounting the genny on something ( no idea what, sorry) to reduce vibration.

Boxing it in would help putting a good thickness of roof insulation inside the box to absorb the noise. But don't forget to give it some ventilation.

As Col says, construct a plywood box to sound insulate it and line it with Egg crate foam. You''ll need to leave sufficient holes in it for cooling airflow though.
