Thank you all for bringing your cars. Hope everyone got home safe. Top Banana is back in the dry with the dehumidifier on. Flags hanging up to dry out. Considering all the plastic that surrounded us, it was great to see we held out longer than them.

See you all at Classic Ford show and then Tour of the Moor. ??

Home safe. Let me mate drive so was a passenger and it rained all the way to Shrewsbury!!! Found out the windscreen leaks in both bottom corners.... so much for new bloody seals! Big thanks to Chris for organising the stand. Shame you couldn't have sorted out some sun or at least stopped the rain
Great day

Many thanks for sorting out delivery of my slam panel Chris.

Hope you had a good day there mate. Let's be honest, if it will on raining hard at a car show, a rally day seems like the most appropriate?

pattern seals don't fit properly and will always be a problem, and even with gen ford seals the entire inner and outer channels of the screen seals need non setting putty in, just as Ford did it, or guess what, they leak

Interesting Ray
Am going to get the fitter back to see what he can do.....he "guaranteed" she wouldn't leak, saying the seals were the "best he'd seen"

All the seals leak on my Tina, I hate using the sealer stuff as I get in places I've not even been!! And it makes such a bloody mess. Unless you know what your doing of course, some of these screen fitters make it look so easy and stay clean!!.....clever bar stewards

Mine leaked on the way home. Both bottom front corners and the rear drivers quarter. I put Black tiger seal on my last Escort.

Both bottom corners on my screen leaked as well, but Friday night after looking at the weather report I put some clear silicone in each corner. After over 8 hours of being in the rain, neither corner leaked! Result. I would recommend this to everyone rather than replacing the rubber! Soooo much cheaper and quicker too.

Thanks for taking this picture, it's a great shot before the rain started. I realised when I got home that I hadn't taken one.

I used an old skool fitter that came highly recommended, and hes done a lot of classic work for big restoration firms like JD Classics, as Colin says, can be messy, but he makes it look so easy and all left clean, the sealant he uses dosnt go hard just like ford sealant didn't, on mine, ford stuff was still pliable when I cleaned the rubbers before he re fitted them, and that's after 45 years, fords was like a white putty, but modern is black

don't forget, its not just there to stop the water getting in and keeping you dry, its there to stop that water creating corrosion between the seal and body and carpet and floor after its leaked down there

if you look at a pattern window seal, they never seat round the corners properly and the first place they split

Cheers. Hoping the fitter will have some proper sealer. Seals came from east kent and he said cos rubbers were v good and car was prepped well they would seal without any help......wrong!
Will call him tomorrow...

Another great shot.

Sorry that I kept missing you, when I arrived you weren't there and I went off to have a look round and when I came back you had just left to do the parade lap. When you came back you parked up and disappeared! I stayed till 2.30 and left because I was wet and cold and am a southern softy!

How bad was the rain?

We decided to give it a miss, as there's no cover or stands up there. One of my favourite venues / events too.

Ended up going to watch my lad running out for our local rugby team and still got soaked. :-)

Constant rain pretty much from midday. Wasn’t heavy rain but the track was proper wet when we went on it. Somewhere between full wets and intermediate tyres.

Currently putting all the clips together to make a video for YouTube. Will post a link when done.
