you know you want it Colin, go for it

Nah, got one ! Going for one of these next. If I can find one in need of resto, even an estate would do.

Its Escort time Col, just give in to the inevitable. Mk2 RS2000 if you need to satisfy the droop snoot cravings.

I'm fancying one of the vaux droops and dropping the Lotus 910 engine out of the esprit

2300cc, used to have a 2.3 sport SL in my younger days. Went like hell drunk fuel and destroyed tyres and gearboxes...lol bit like the escort a flatfront version of the droopsnoot

My mate (passed away now)  had one when I was about 17 or 18.  I was home on leave and we were following the 1000 Lanes Rally when he stuffed it into a dry stone wall. This thing absolutely flew during its day.

We went back down the next day to recover his car which had twisted its front leg, steering etc.

I had to go back to work the next day, but told him I'd be home in 4 weeks and said we'd fix it then if he got the parts ready. Consider my Mate though with the most wicked grin on his face and just picture a real life Denace the Menace.

I came home 4 weeks later and went down his house on my old Maico 440 Enduro if I remember right. Sat outside was his car, all sorted and pristine. He comes out of the house when he hears my bike bike with an even more wicked grin on his face.

I swear, I  had nothing to do with it, but the f#*#*#r had only seen it on his way to work,  two valleys over from ours.

I know it's wrong what he did, but when I think back of my old mate, I always remember this car amongst one of his many escapades. He was the most mischievous wrongun you could ever meet, but he was always my Mate from the first day we started primary school.

Sadly he took his own life on splitting with his Missus and she stopped him seeing their little un.

Just seen the Gartrac Cossie is up for sale on fleabay  223127940739

going by the pics it's not as tidy as it used to be. Still a nice peice of kit though!

The guy that had it built (Jimmy) spent £1000's on suspension development and it had the absoloute best of everything. I do remember seeing it going flat out around a local roundabout and I couldn't believe how much the body rolled! How he didn't roll it I'll never know!
