Mk1 escort cigarette lighter bulb

Hi all does any one know what type of bulb goes in the Mk1 escort cigarette lighter  1974 car 

its a small bulb, mine has blown  would consider a LED too

I bought a replacement for mine on eBay Nick ,but can’t remember what it’s called , low wattage like 5w maybe 8w ,does it not say anything on it

Its a bulb called the BA7s. It is traditionally found as regular filament bulb 12 volt 2 watts. There is also a LED version of it as pictured. This is a green one that enhances the colour of the illuminated surround that sometimes fade with time. By changing it to a green LED it will restore its vivid colour and also brighter in the process. I will send you one to try if you private message me your details. You can compare with a regular one and see which you prefer.

did you get the LED version off of e bay ? Or was that somewhere in oz? Am interested in this myself .

Im not sure to be honest they have been sitting in my bulb kit box for a while now. I remember getting some orange ones off Ebay for a Lucas dash light which is what I was looking for when I found the green ones instead. I cant remember buying them. There are UK sellers still listing on Ebay though for that type of bulb.

Were you wanting it for a cigarette lighter as well or something else? Its also used in Ford Clocks either as a single or a pair.

mines the same as yours Nick, and type into e bay BA7S and theres loads on there both filament and LED
