preacherman Posted December 24, 2018 Report Posted December 24, 2018 I know my escort had had the pedal box changed at some point. Looking to change the throttle pedal bushes. I have always thought my throttle pedal was a bit odd. How does my pedal compare to other mark2 escorts. I think the pedal should be level with the overs,it looks a bit short.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted December 24, 2018 Moderator Report Posted December 24, 2018 Looks right to me although hard to tell precisely with a 2 dimensional image. Stage 1 Motorsport is doing pedal bush kits including the accelerator one that you haven't been able to get until recently.
preacherman Posted December 24, 2018 Author Report Posted December 24, 2018 It's a bog standard escort pedal box assy.
katana Posted December 24, 2018 Report Posted December 24, 2018 Has the loud pedal 'rubber' been put on 'upside down'? I'm sure the pedals were easier to 'heel and toe' than those appear to be able to do?
preacherman Posted December 24, 2018 Author Report Posted December 24, 2018 This is for sale on fleabay.looks different to mine.
notenoughtime Posted December 24, 2018 Report Posted December 24, 2018 Is an automatic pedal lever shorter with a bigger pad

It only looks different as there is no return spring on the clutch pedal to raise it to the same level as the brake pedal. 7 hours ago, notenoughtime said: Is an automatic pedal lever shorter with a bigger pad Not Shorter just wider My Pedals I dont vacuum much
notenoughtime Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 The actual arm looks shorter on throttle pedal

The pedals are the same length. We had alot of Mk2 Autos here as we put 2lt engines in everything. We even have Automatic RS2000s.

They weren't too bad if you drove it through the gears but the cars definitely lacked peak performance as any auto transmission was always partnered with a pinto engine that was low compression, so as well as the auto box sapping power it was also down on horsepower compared to its manual counterpart before even going through a box.
colr6 Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 Might give some idea of compatability, the same box was used in a London taxi !! 1
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted December 27, 2018 Moderator Report Posted December 27, 2018 I remember when drag racing ....... um ....... I mean friendly performance comparisons from lights didn't get you on the 6 o'clock news my friend with a 1.6lt Ghia would come up beside an RS2000 and ask me in the passenger seat "is it an auto? Ill have a go if it is!"
