I do have to question why you would store it in a council garage with no power for alarms or any security etc, I know it should be safe, but thats just asking for trouble in this day and age tbh ,I wouldnt be able to sleep

Some of us don't have the luxury of a big spacious, powered up and alarmed units to keep our cars in! That lot looks just like our (my neighbours and I) garages - built in a block remote from the houses and definitely not council! They actually look well looked after and uniformly painted but agree not much you can do without power - make working on them a PITA also! I've looked into battery powered CCTV video recorders / alarms but still no consolation watching your car getting nicked after the fact!

I use this one.

https://www.swann.com/au/swads-alarmk

It runs on AA batteries that last a long while. It comes with two sensors and you can add a third. It makes a different alarm for each sensor so you instantly know which one has been triggered. And boy is it loud! One of the warnings sounds like Nuke meltdown alert! I had to cover the speaker with tape even on low volume it makes such a racket. I take the receiver/alarm box into my room at night so it will wake me up if needed. I have one sensor in the front yard, one in the back and one under the carport covering the cars. They even have a doorbell option so you can integrate that into the system. For 40 quid its pretty good. Direct sun can trigger the sensors sometimes but in a garage you will be right as rain The same company seems to offer more hi tech ones as well that send warnings to your smartphone and a live camera view option through the phone as well.
