Mk2 Cortina ignition barrel

Hello all, does anyone have a mk2 Cortina ignition barrel they want to sell? I was going to order one from fleabay, but thought I would try here first.

I’m 99% sure they’re same as an Anglia, if so I should have a spare with keys.

Found it, which is a miracle on its own they way my garages are the moment !🤔🤔🤔

a couple of pics to compare. Now if it is the same this switch has some history 😜 Came from a Broadspeed Anglia and is reputed to have been turned on by the great hot rod legend George Polly !! Which of course increases its value ten fold, bit like the RS tax ...lol. If it’s any good for you just pm your address and I’ll send it over to you.

It’s a sports hatch, only 197 made. Thinking along the lines of take the single ohc out and replace with the Lotus 907 engine to give it a few more gee gees.

Spoke to the guy today and he’s got a figure of 10k in mind for a rebuilt shell with parts to finish but need refurbishment. It’s a little over the top but negotiations have started with a quote from him he WANTS to sell ! A trip down with the trailer and some readies a deal might be struck. I don’t need one but would like one, I can can always come back with an empty trailer 😉

You have mentioned a couple of times you were interested in a droop snoot Firenza. You should go for it. It would be the first time someone mentioned car in the thread abouts cars we fancy and actually go out and do it. Just dont leave us for that droopsnoot.co.uk group. Although you could also by an RS2000 and crossover between the two.
