I’ve got a load of bikes to register for MOT exemption and the lady at the post office said don’t think about sending them in yet they’re only dealing with priority things, Just bought a new truck and normally a log book comes within a week and that’s taken a month.

I've got an another week on you 'Johnny Boy' - waiting for a replacement V5, just so I can sell something!

What's annoying me is majority of DVLA stuff is online these days so unless there is absolutely no one there, 6 weeks is really pushing the DVLA's credibility!

Oh dear, that's not good, we will have to wait a bit longer I guess.

My only fear is that they will lose stuff.

Last car i registered , they lost my cheque and my driving licence.

I dont even know if they are looking at this at the moment, I heard they only dealing with hgv and licensing for front line worker's, that's what the automated message says if you call,

I took my paperwork to the Post Office around 2 weeks ago for Historic Tax.

Log book was sent off by PO and checking on their website, my car has been taxed.

Not received log book back, but was told about 6 weeks.

The tax is done by the PO there and then.......the V5C will take a lot longer.  Eddie is correct with his comment below

I had all the paperwork sent back to me Saturday, saying I could not register it as historic, as the dating evidence was 01/01/80 ,as the first reg date on the SA log book.

I phoned them up today, and put it to them that it must have been built before 29th Dec 1979, to have been registered on 01/01/80.

They were having none of it , and needed a build date, which I can't supply.

So in the end I agreed to tax it as PLG, and pay the £270 road tax money, and it will be free/historic after April next year.

Sent it back off this morning.

Well see when it comes back.

The lady on the phone said they were back at work now, getting though the back log.

I’ve just taken ten log books in today for tax and MOT exemption, let you know when they come back. I had no issues with the lady at the post office she had all the instructions hand written at the back of her stamp book 😳
