I assume you have correct grade? Is it a new pump? Often modern reproduction pumps have fairly slack clearances, even from new, so show low pressure at hot idle. I saw a YT video by a guy called AC Dodd who upgrades 'classic' mini pumps - its well worth a look and eye opening as to how bad 'new' pumps can be - and don't assume those made for Fords will be any different!

Hello, thanks for the replies it is 20/50 grade,I have just ran it up again ....oil light goes out straight away and thankfully stays out.....when cold pressure doesn't drop below half,I will take a look at the video I got from my previous reply and try a different gauge and may be an oil change and a frame filter, cheers

That's the correct oil grade and VR1 is "the good stuff". It sounds low on the gauge at idle mind.

try looking at the oil pick up pipe in the sump, if its not a really tight fit into the block, ie you need a tool and mallet to fit, they drag in air and cause the low pressure, seen this a few times as the cause of low pressure, and can destroy a re built engine in no time
