DarrenM Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 The 3.0 needs the 2.8 LSD, brakes and suspension and more power, buy the 280 instead!
Admin Vista Posted March 11, 2007 Author Admin Report Posted March 11, 2007 Looking like people are heavily in favour of the 3 litre S then. How about a few more arguments for and against the respective cars then. I know about the obvious haves and have nots of the 280 over the S, like LSD, leather, 15" wheels, etc, but what does it gain in terms of brakes and suspension? Anyone?
sab6024 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I'd have the 3.0S. But if I could have any Capri, I'd consider a Tickford. When it comes to brakes and suspension I have no idea. So long as it has some I'm happy
QuadCamCapri Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Brakes....No difference in braking force just a slight improvement in fade resistance with the vents. Oh and the 2.8 has bigger bore rear cylinders for it's worth! Suspension.....the 2.8 suspension was sorted by SVE so is an improvement and would be the quicker car point to point. 3.0S with 2.8 suspension & LSD
Doc Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 My 3.0s was ok on the brakes . Truth is its not new technology , Inj capri brakes were to be honest just ok too with most people modding them anyway. For me the 3.0S was the last of the real capris in my opinion even thought the 2.8is spawned the turbo nutter cars and the tickford. W reg it finished for me . If i wanted good brakes and injection i would have bought a BMW! I like the old styling too of rear opening windows , lairy interiors and not recaros ! I like no side repeaters and the door locks with the key as one . I love the ridiculous rear opening side windows and the way an Essex pulls over the 2.8is ... and the sound . ....... Blokes car .
john_3.0s Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 3.0S with 2.8 suspension & LSD Oh like mine then surely the the 3.0 wins on engine sound alone, nothing much like an essex v6 on full chat
