School boy1 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Has anyone put a Jag engine in their car? Ive seen it done on a Manta, 4.0 straight six, mabey a 4.2, seemed like quite a good idea, if you dont mind not using a traditional unit.

Mk 1 Mark Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Raced a Ford powered Jag @ Swaffham 2.8 manual..Hard and fast.... Shame about the alloy hubs though 2 big side hits finished the car As for Jag engine into fords,To big to heavy and there are a lot better ford engines out there. . . Says the man with a Vauxhall powered Ford
V8ian Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 As Neil said, Jangula, and there were LOADS of Ford Pops around in the 60s and 70s with Jag straight 6 fitted, most were for Drag racing but there were a few that were on the road. Have a look on here, there are loads of drag racing photos right back to the 60s in england http://www.theaccelerationarchive.co.uk/site_map.html there are going to be some jag powered fords in there somwhere and also have a look on here http://www.timetraveldvds.co.uk/page58.html Ian
pierce Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 how about the later XJR engine 4.0 supercharged 360 bhp standard
Danmex Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 My missus's uncle put a Jag straight six and rear axle in a mk 1 Escy years back, was quite a well known car back in the day, got in custom car and car and car conversions etc in the 70's and early 80's. Was a proper flying machine apparently
Essex Boy Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 how about the later XJR engine 4.0 supercharged 360 bhp standard Or maybe the 6.0V12 with the TWR twin turbo fitted
