danger_close Posted July 20, 2023 Report Posted July 20, 2023 (edited) From Arizona. Have many "vintage" (is what they're calling them these days), SAABs. Current project is converting a 1972 96 (1.7 V4) to rwd and looking for parts. Edited July 20, 2023 by danger_close
Admin Vista Posted July 25, 2023 Admin Report Posted July 25, 2023 You are looking for 70's Saab parts in the US on a classic Ford forum that is predominantly UK / Europe based? Good luck but I don't fancy your chances much.

I did think that but I think the SAAB used the Ford V4 in that particular model - even so they ain't exactly common here mostly converted to boat anchors long ago!
caprimk1v4 Posted July 25, 2023 Report Posted July 25, 2023 Not only that, the V4 was the "COLOGNE" V4 (GERMAN), so it had the dizzi at the rear, & Siamese'd exhaust ports so it looked like a V2. Our UK V4 although not a great engine, did have separate ports, and the dizzi at the front and did sound quite nice (quirky), I always had a soft spot for them because I am an old softy, and when I was an apprentice, the works Transit's had V4's in them, and it stuck with me. xx (Tears in eye's as I roll down Memory lane). xx The Cologne V4's (and V6's), never floated my boat, not as nice as a proper Essex.
