BaileyMex Posted October 30, 2023 Report Posted October 30, 2023 A friend of mine has asked for my help to sell his Jag, obviously as I like Classic Fords that immediately makes me an expert in what he refers to as a 'really old' Jag, and can I help him sell it. Is there a demand for such a beast? Is this a good variant to have or not that popular? Just trying to help a mate, and these things are not my bag, any thoughts would be appreciated as prices on eBay seem quite varied. Apologies for the crap pics. 2004 Jaguar XJ8 V8 SE Auto - 4.2 300bhp 74,000 miles 2 owners, one was a main dealer by all accounts, so Demo +1 FSH & both keys Cheers in advance
Miniliteman Posted October 30, 2023 Report Posted October 30, 2023 If it has FSH and has no faults / issues whatsoever then there should be interest for it. As there is a forum full of owners who have issues with Jags. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xj8-xjr-x350-x358-28/
BaileyMex Posted October 30, 2023 Author Report Posted October 30, 2023 Hi Guys I've not seen it up close, nor have I seen the condition under etc, it was really just to gauge if that model was the kiss of death or (if in good order) popular
Admin Vista Posted October 30, 2023 Admin Report Posted October 30, 2023 That's an all aluminium X350 with the 300bhp 4.2 litre AJ34 V8 and 6 speed ZF transmission. Great cars in their day and if they've been well looked after, they make an excellent budget luxo barge. Autocar Review from a couple of years back
katana Posted October 31, 2023 Report Posted October 31, 2023 The big 'luxury' V8 barges are in a shrinking market what with the tax / emissions status and running costs! Its funny what some people term 'a REALLY old car LOL! I was expecting a MK2 / MK8 / E Type / Dart not an 80's exec mobile ! £2 - 3000 tops I guess?

BaileyMex Posted October 31, 2023 Author Report Posted October 31, 2023 Cheers guys, just wanted to see if any feedback for the fella.
thrashermax Posted November 8, 2023 Report Posted November 8, 2023 That's worth £5,000 to £6,500, especially with the low owners and mileage. I have the same model but with the 3.0 V6. If they've been looked after they are bomb proof, I've done 20,000 in mine, now on 117,000 miles and is totally reliable.
