Miniliteman Posted October 14, 2024 Report Posted October 14, 2024 Wanted to buy a magazine from ebay-uk, price was £1.50 but postage to me was £18+ !! Now if I buy a £1.50 piece of electronics from HongKong postage is less than £2 ... how is that possible? 1
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted October 15, 2024 Moderator Report Posted October 15, 2024 I have noticed that Brexit is used as an excuse to price gouge on postage and shipping by both sides. I have even questioned why postage pretty much doubled and sometimes tripled to me they claimed the red tape of Brexit and when I mentioned i wasn't in Europe they simply said they just do everything the same regardless. to save time. 1
Miniliteman Posted October 15, 2024 Author Report Posted October 15, 2024 I know but when I post a small parcel to HongKong postage is a minimum of 10 Euros, when Ali or who-ever send a small parcel to me postage is just 2 Euros!

As you know James, there is a bit of paperwork but it's really know different to before when sending to Australia. Brexit is used as an excuse for too many things. Just like Covid. Profit before service every time mate. 😡 3

They have had to even hold an inquiry as to their antics but they continue to do it even under scrutiny, they simply dont care if they are caught. 2

The trouble is our politicians are so out of touch with local people they won't even know price increases are being faked. If they did they wouldn't do anything. Our Prime Minister gets too many freebies to care 😡
ShaunS Posted October 17, 2024 Report Posted October 17, 2024 I guess this is current situation all over the world, not just in ZA. Food prices quite literally increase every 3 months. Often blamed by the rising Fuel price, even though here we have had a decreased in fuel costs on most of 2024.
heartyonionsoup Posted October 28, 2024 Report Posted October 28, 2024 Feels like everyone's just making excuses to charge more these days. brexit, covid, inflation - pick your poison I guess.
