Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted February 26 Moderator Report Posted February 26 Over the years I have been told of an actual too that helps you install the chrome strips around windscreen rubbers. Never seen one or used one in the flash. I can see a few online for sale. Anyone have any experience with them or recommend a good one? Twenty years ago I remember doing the Twincams by hand (with its original rock hard rubbers) and I can still remember walking around with pained arched fingers as if I had arthritis decades before my time LOL Given I just ordered the Chrome screen trim for both cars I think I should get the right tool so if one works better than another let me know!
Johnny Boy Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 I've used the tool on my Mk1 Cortina chrome strips, Diamond shaped wire end , with a nylon roller at the back.

Johnny Boy Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 The diamond shape opens up the rubber, the roller pushes the strip in, as you push the tool along. Ooh err mrs

No way I was spending 50 bucks on a tool I only get to use once every 5 years! And in a number of years time when I go to try find it again I will swear i bought one of these things and have no idea where it is after all this time. So it has a spot with other similar tools I will always know exactly where it is. 1
