Newbie looking for a Escort Mk1 van

Very new to all this.

Bit of my Ford history, Anglia 1200, Cortina Mk3 2.0 GXL, Escort Mk1 1300 E, Escort Mk2 Ghia, Escort Mk3 Ghia..

Now trying to find out if my son-in-laws, grandads Escort Mk1 Van is still about. He has pictures of it when living in north London, then went to his uncle who sold it, maybe 2010. He has his grandads Mustang and thinks this will keep me entertained in my retirement, either as a restoration or polishing it as it’s now immaculate.

Going to try DVLA, doesn’t look like the Escort Mk1 owners club exists anymore, correct me if I’m wrong. So reaching out where I can.

Pictures show it as dark blue, reg. no. RGT 766L.

Statutory Off Road Notification.

If you don't tax a car (I.e. pay annual Vehicle Excise Duty, even though for most of our old cars that is now free) then you have to make a SORN declaration to the DVLA. If you don't, a fine can arrive in the post.

They really hate motorists there. They even fine you for not telling them you not going to use your own car!

That looks like a good price, but I'd be put off by the "restoration and new paint", you don't know how well or badly its been done.

Agreed. As with any old car there are horror stories. Mines from SA so christ knows what’s  in there😳😂
