bozie Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 i only want it because the manifold is all rustyand dont look good where can i get camcoat or zircotec thanks
Admin Vista Posted January 20, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 20, 2007 Camcoat Cermakrome is a Metalised ceramic coating applied to the manifold, it's not cheap (costing me £180 + VAT for a 3 piece pinto manifold) but as it coats the manifold both internally and externally, should protect your manifold from corrosion (exhaust wrap will make it worse) and aid in heat dissipation for life. If your manifold is extensively corroded, it's probably worth buying a new one and having that coated. Check out the links for details http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/Coatings.htm
bozie Posted January 20, 2007 Author Report Posted January 20, 2007 its not corrode too much it just looks horrible in the engine bay
Baz. Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Wot Vista says mate or use zicotec, same thing its £35 per foot of pipe, just send it to them , end of www.zircotec.com

Guest COZZIEMAN Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Hi mate. Demontweeks or Burtons , it's not cheep about £38.00 per 50ft, plus you need some metal ties or locking wire. Best only get 1" wide, it's easyer to do. You proberly need 2 rolls. It dose work ,it's not just for looks .
deluxe Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 barbeque paint? Or simply keep the bonnet shut and spend it on beer or petrol

PIG Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 just put this on my down pipe and most of my system, got it from rally design £18 i think it was for the 1" by im sure 15 meters.get it soaking wet before applying and wrap it tight.then use lock wire every few inches to keep it tight.works well on mine, looks tidy and has'nt come loose or faded.but each to there own really m8.good luck
105Speed Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Exhaust Wrap does work, but it will shorten the life of your manifold greatly. If its just got a liberal coating of surface rust and isnt actually rotten then have it shot blasted and then painted with one of the exhaust paints out there, the one on my Zetec is an Ashley one that looked pap, Dave at Retro Ford got it blasted and then painted it with an exhaust paint and its just a lovely satin black colour with no sign of the paint coming off or discolouring in 3 months.

luz008 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 if your after some high temp paint - i would recommend this stuff - its rated to 816'c - not the usual 650'c. http://www.feridax.com/cgi-bin/bp_mai.p ... ACCS.PJ1#2
