  2. V4 2.0 fuel pump, spares or repairs, it still actually pumps an sucks, but suggest rebuild, £20 + post, or collect from Boston Lincs

Job Lot: Essex V6 Lucas Dizzys, usually fitted on Scimitars, but will work on any Essex V6?. with new Caps x3, Condensors an Points, rotor arms are used, both have tight shaft bushes, one has oil pump drive missing, £100 +post or collect from Sutterton lincs or can post for extra. may split into 2 lots if you only want one? £70 ?
  4. a bit late reply maybe?, adjustment on Mk1 one is done with shims under the top plate, if you look for Theo Cupia on Retards Club he sells full rebuild kits, the hard bits doin it yrself is first getting the Pitman arm off they almost seem like there welded on!!!!!!!!!!!! i've broken puller on them, serious heat helps whilst under puller tension, I force wedges under the arm then heat nr cherry red the arm, then leave to cool off naturally (hours) they usually come off then, the other hard bit, two sets of hands really is keeping the bearings in place while you insert the steering shaft and get it bolted down, fill it with Penrite grease not oil, you can buy steering box grease on ebay, then you have to check preloads then take apart again to swap shims!!!!!, a right pain in the ass job to be honest.
  5. Mk1 do not have the adjust nut normally thats mk11 steering box or its from an import maybe?, Mk1 boxes are only adjusted with shims under the top plate, and shims at the bottom of the column
  6. they are getting rare to find, repair kits should come with every part except the cast arm, but rarely come with the shims to set the load tension?, beware there are 2 types of kit, Std and Lotus - Corsair, they have different ball joint
  7. yes you actually do, first MOT exemption requires a V112 form, you tick one box confirming yr car meets the exemption rules sign it an take V5 with it to post office, this form is only available on line to download and print, but i have been told lately it can now be done on line? a vehicle reaching its 40th birthday 1st registration does not guarantee MOT exemption as lots of people seem to think?, the V112 form is a legal declaration which you are binding to, without it driving yr car will likely render yr insurance invalid in a claim. also I only think not sure if you have legal exemption and then get an MOT yr exemption is cancelled and when yr MOT expires you have to reapply for the exemption?
  8. well spotted, i hate bad and lazy adverts, one thing really winds me up is new car adverts, nearly all companies advertise here in the Uk with L/H drive cars, I think Kia an maybe Puegot rarely do it?, a company called Land Rover Uk advertising on Retards Club only show pics an videos of L/H drive motors!, perhaps i need a chill pill but it proper winds me up
  9. ok i been informed the two matching ones are Metro / Montego, it seems its a common fit for replace ford locks, just change the cam an fittings on the back, so the bigger ford one maybe an escort boot lock, all three keys fit though

Got my diff rebuilt by Daz Kitson @ DK technology Wisbech, back in the Car an nice an quiet, New JBW's on at last 7x13 on rear an 6x13 on front, 185-60x13 all round, i might treat it to 195's for the rear as not keen on the slightly stretched look?, 3/4" wheel spacer on front an got nice clearance, 1/8" spacer on rear and still clear of wheel arch,,,,,,,,,,,,,, car is lowered approx 2" on front and 1.5" on rear an i'm happy with the ride / stance, except at 15mph i hit a tarmac hollow in the road (subsidance) out nr Holbeach and smashed the sump, it now has a tiny weep so be careful with yr lowered cars. 20240911_161619.mp4

A Mate is selling this Consul, He lives In Newark notts but the Car is at mine Nr Boston lincs for viewing, PM me for his Number?, below is his description of the car. 56 ford consul rat rod tough and tatty I had this car 20 years ago and was great back then. I bought it back after finding it in a field in Lincolnshire with weeds growing in the foot well missing glass and rotting away. Plan was to repair it drive it and eventually build a race frame and pro street it. I got as far as the repair and drive but I've bought a pro street hotrod now so I don't have to spend years building it. What I've done to get it to this stage is as follows.. get ready 🙄 Rear axle is ford 105e English. It's had LSD new diff and crown wheel and pinion, seals and rear spring hangers and poly bushes. Alloy fuel tank in the boot and new fuel line Electric fuel pump Engine is 1977 Granada cologne v6 and is a great little Engine. Had head gaskets and top end seals done along with lapped in valves and new valve stem seals. Water pump accuspark dizzy leads plugs and coil are brand new this spring. Alloy rad for Mustang V8 fitted with trans cooler and electric fan Front suspension was a mess 🤢 death trap in fact. So went through the MK2 escort legs and new ball joints new anti roll bar poly bushes and Capri steering rack rebuilt professionally because the track rods actually came out of the rack when turning left Gearbox is ford c3 auto freshened up and new flex plate and torque converter too it drives great going through the gears with positive changes and pulls really well Prop is purpose made Wilson propshaft 2 years old Welding was an matter of its own. I won't bore you too much with the bodges I found underneath. The car has plenty of rust left which I personally think is cool and always turns heads. However where it needs strength it's been welded up and is tough. It's had both sills outer inner and webs replaced and some of the floor too. A few stiffening plates and outriggers have been replaced as well. I didn't go mad on the floor as I planned on cutting it out to make way for a chassis but I replaced a lot of it where necessary Replaced rear screen and new rubber. There's a rubber in the boot for the front screen Last year and the year before it was in regular use and often daily during the summer months I took the time over the winter to upgrade the ignition system and a couple of bits of maintenance on the engine It's now running again and sounds great keeps cool and good oil pressure and charging as well 👍 video was taken today for this advert It needs more setting up though the timing is perfect but it idles a little rough so it's just the carb to set up. I'd personally replace the pierburg carb with a Webber to simplify the tuning and reliability. It runs and revs clean but when put into gear it cuts out. Should be a little job as everything else has been done and a few hours and a few quid will have it driving as good as ever. I'm out of time for now I'm working away and moving house so this car has had it's attention from me and needs a tiny bit of work and get out and about in it Things that don't work are Speedo, I was going to get one of those GPS Speedos from tinterweb they're pretty good. Temp gauge wants wiring back up indicators work mostly but flasher unit is playing up a bit. Doors bonnet and boot have rust but I like it so left it alone. After all it's only replaceable panels 🤷🏻‍♂️ So you won't have any fun trying to drive it home as it's going to cut out every time you come to a stop. If it wasn't for that I'd say you can drive it absolutely anywhere and it would make it. This car wants trailering away for that reason only.
