  9. this page is a good resource for tyre size and it shows yr well under size as Katana suggested https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/tyre-size-for-rim-size-width-calculator
  10. yeh i get that, but check with the tyre manufacturer if those tyres are ok on a 7.5" rim?, as i know of 2 people now who's classics have been written off in accidents and insurance didnt pay out because tyres were incorrect size for rims, insurance co's love a stupid reason not to pay out
  11. not a lover of letter painting but it seems to suit on some vehicles, yours look ok as not to much on, what bothers me more is the undersized tyres on your rims, they look very stretched, just not wide enough?, i know that seems to be a fashion these days? Lovely Wheels though
  12. yeh thats just what i said in my head lol, now if it had not been on the trolley it would of hit the bumper lol
  13. Well Guess Who's been a Tw*t again!, Pushed the car back out the garage an straight into the Van's towbar!!!!!!!! it just had to line up with the rear light din it!!!!! I swear I'm gettin worse lately, better av a lay down with a V&C

  15. Prepped everything ready to lift out the Cortina engine/gearbox last night, went back in garage this morning to finish the job and found this guilty looking little Tw*t and My engine gone!!!!!! So who bought it of Him? cos He's not talking?, 😠😂
  16. Not Ford but Ford based, Mk1 Escort running gear, dash, wiring, seats etc, 1600 xflow, 4 speed box with High / Low selection and forward PTO running a winch, all Alloy body, i bought it as a wreck down in Portsmouth, pic taken around 1990 when it was part restored, i later refitted the rear seats and made a steel hoop an canvas back cover for it, it drove really well, I mot'd it an sold it to someone in Bognor Regis, last time i saw it was about a year later Painted Barbie Pink and sat in a garden for years!!! I was told it was one of two made as a project (southampton university) for Africa so they could build cheap cars from scrap escorts?, cant remeber the Name given to it?, but never ever saw another one, I have some more pics somewhere?
  17. Cologne V6 engine wanted, must be in good running order, I'm in Boston Lincs, engine is needed in Newark Notts, but We can travel for the right engine Thankyou
  18. please beware that if you electroplate high tensile fittings they can suffer enbrittlement and will need to baked in an oven after plating, ie : caliper mount bolts can shear after plating
  19. the thing i dont like about replacement LED bulbs is you have to be spot on directly looking at them to get the brightness, std old car light lenses reflectors rely on the all round glow of a candecant bulb, so from other drivers view yr lights hardly show up
  20. hello could you send Me a pic of them for a courier to price transport and the postcode for collection thankyou
  21. i tried Led bulbs in mine and no good, you will need resisters or a new led flasher unit so then you will have to put led bulbs in the rear, i've tried a few types / makes of led in my cortina and they are all useless, they do not project light the correct way to work in a candecent bulb holder / reflector, sorry but dont waste yr money
  22. Ethanol is corrosive to all non ferrous metals and rubber based parts, hydroscopic so sucks moisture in like a sponge so double crap in a boat enviroment, the xflow will run on it no problem but it will slowly eat away at fuel system, most super unleaded fuels except Shell Vpower are ethanol free but higher octane so you may have to alter ignition timing slightly?, but still use lead additive, the ethanol free super unleaded fuels are still labeld E5 by law as they may have trace elements of ethanol from cross contamination from delivery tankers. if yr engine dont like higher octane petrol use a ethanol killer addative with std fuel, I use Motorex ethanol booster in all my classics even the mower and in a few yrs not had any problems, even Toolstation sell an ethanol addative now
