  1. So true! Binoculars or a telescope
  2. Yes please!
  3. Damn right, just took me time to realise. ............must be an age thing, or a money thing! Anyway it's a thing
  4. The other lights were cibies too.........just the new versions, but too small, said the nun to the vicar!
  5. Well in my humble opinion it's each to their own..........but my mk2 will stick with 2!
  6. Chin up..........could be worse! Catch you at silverstone
  7. Well I have not had to upgrade the alternator as I am only running the two spotlights this time.
  8. Think the weather gods will be against us all tomorrow, shame.
  9. I had 2 up 2 down cibie oscar and super oscar, all wired in, on my mk1 v6 in the early 90s. And after changing in the alternator to keep up with the outage I figured this time that too is enough, even with the standard 55w bulbs! And also the ones on mine now are the oscar + with the flat back, so they fit on the standard mk2 brackets, unlike the normal bowl backs that need an after market bracket.
  10. Tickets and stand pass arrived safe and sound today, many thanks and see you there..............someone start doing a sun dance! Pete & Di (with Kermit)
  11. So I figured, eventually, that you should really have a decent sized set of cibies, and my first ones although close to standard ford spotlight size really did not set the front off. So after a few weeks trawling around flea bay and scum tree I found a set of french made 7" cibie oscar +. They were duly dispatched, upon arrival they really did need a total refurb, along with new bulbs as they were not working. So a total strip down, clean the lenses, rub down all the components, 3 coats of grey primer, 3 coats of satin black and 3 coats of clear lacquer. Sparkly like brand new. New bulbs fitted, now fully working, and finally new covers. Total cost well under £100. Happy bunny! So from this: To this:
  12. Same day as escorts at the ace cafe, I will have to toss a coin..........but I have seen all your videos from previous meets, and it looks like a blast.
  13. Strange that nothing comes up, I even checked Google images and videos...........nothing
  14. Just brief the old chestnut, Google. Nothing, no pictures, no articles. .........was it ever on a private plate? Strange really as you normally get something. Pete
  15. Good luck with the sale mate, looks peachy!
  16. Hi Graham, welcome to the site..........great aray of motors! Enjoy mate. Pete
  17. Special? Is that posh talk for mental. Hope he sorts out the capris way too light back end, otherwise there will be tears before bedtime. Should be something to behold though!
  18. Wouldn't mind the run out, as I used to go as a git of a 17 yr old banzi'ing my mk1 or mk2 cortina. Will have to check the weather forecast, and get my "little jobs" done on the car during the day!
  19. Gutted for you mate!
  20. When I have sold a car or motorbike through flea bay, after getting burnt a few times I now put a full list of do's and don'ts. It NORMALLY sorts the chaff from the wheat, and I always state a deposit will be required with in 24 hrs or it goes to the second placed bidder. The majority have paid the deposit straight away, and then collection within 5 days with cash or bank transfer. As with everything I think it's luck of the devil really, and there are just so many wasters on flea bay, and as for some of the excuses why they want to bid retract, of not purchase are priceless and could probably start a whole new thread So good luck to any one that gets the deposit and the purchaser does not follow through with the sale, as it says "money for old rope"!
  21. Welcome mate...........enjoy the forum............Most are guru's on here, so if you have a question ask and it will get answered! Get some pictures of your motors up. Pete
  22. I thought all the granadas had been bangered to within an inch of their existence?
  23. Happy days indeed...........get the beers in! Good luck with the sale............ask for a bigger deposit........easy money!
  24. How about one of those xr6s, the south African mk4/5 cortina. Standard 3.0 ltr v6! Got to be comfortable, reliable and a rwd hoot. Only draw back is there are not many about. Or they did a v8 Sierra, the xr8 I think. There you go even more options , Pete
  25. I bet the words..............grounded, forever...................and all your wages for the next 5 years. And a few others I cannot type as I am such a delicate little flower! I do hope the son was on the insurance!
