  1. They did build it from scratch. It's lovely and it wasn't too expensive, even though it took virtually all day as it had to run so tight to the floor. As you are probably aware, I ripped the front crossmember off my car on a lump in the road, but the exhaust has hardly touched ever. But... it was a bit of mates rates, so not sure how much it would normally be.
  2. Me? Show off? Maybe sometimes
  3. Anyone had a look at their news pages?? Very informative and some lovely photos!!
  4. That girly in Drivers Avatar has a lot of power with those lovlies I reckon
  5. Hope you get it sorted quick. Thanks for getting your mate to look after all my stuff today while I was racing.
  6. The B-29 doc. is called frozen in time. I've not seen it but it sounds like an amazing story
  7. There's one local to me. Very local
  8. Thanks everybody! There is no facility for a spring on the cylinder itself, but I think I can see a hole in the bellhousing casting around it. V8 Ian's comment makes perfect sense as I thought I'd seen them but couldn't remember ever deraling with one. Must have seen them on other people's cars. I'll see if I can find a spring at work tonight before I go taking the gearbox off again. I know the release bearing is a bit rpoey. I only put it in last week. THe clutch stopped releasing properly and I had to replace it with whatever I had lying around one evening last week. I had a second hand clutch on an engine in the shed and found a release bearing in a bag on the floor. Happy days!
  9. Thanks. And, oh dear! New clutch release bearing required methinks
  10. Do they normally have a spring alongside the pushrod to assist the cylinder returning?? The E has a noisy clutch release bearing when the clutch is not pressed. It shuts up when the arm is pushed back (by hand) and I noticed there are a couple of holes where a spring could go.
  11. That looks the nuts. I started polishing one once. Got bored Hope you don't decide to go for twin 40s once it's going
  12. It's the OSF totem pole!
  13. Top pics Kieran. Well done for catching the image of Jesus' head floating above Noodles car in picture 6! (Sorry if you can't see the resemblance/ no offence matey)
  14. Just thought...... I bet loads of you will 'pull out' seeing as you won't be able to 'have' any 'fags' inside after tonight. May as well stay at home so you can still enjoy fags in your own home
  15. Can't really see what the problem is with the rain. I've been using my truck in the crap weather cos I killed the Cortina. It has no demist. 1 vacuum wiper. About 350bhp and next to no weight over the big bald rear tyres. Just leave plenty of room around you and go slowly sideways
  16. Much better day today..... Modified new crossmember from Rally Design and fitted it. Got offered cheap GSI 2000-good for spares Got begging phone call from work asking me to go in. Told them I was still too ill. Only thing is, my eye is still black and purple. I'm sure you'll all see some of it on Sunday
  17. Emma looks good......................... but I've always had a soft spot for you Johnny
  18. I'm going to tell work that Nic hit me with an adjustable spanner. And she set it to BIG before she whacked me!
  19. Thanks guys. Even with my shiner, I've still got a sense of humour about it. I've had the car ages and am not near giving up. I think I'll have to make some sort of skid up though to try and prevent it happening again. That steel lump I hit is for locking a gate and it's tiny.
  20. Dropped the 1600E off at my girlfriends work just after lunch. Pulled out of her car park in my Tina and SMASH!!!! Hit the crossmember on this little fella. Screwed my crossmember up into a ball and ripped it off the chassis rails. Check out thr toe in: Had to ring in sick to sort the mess out. In the sheeet at work now for sure. Jacked it up and started to remove it. Smacked myself in the face with a big ratchet. Ouch: Cut the crossmember up. Straightened it out. Welded it back together. Chucked it back on and drove it home. It drives really bad. Like a car thats had a massive smack on the suspension. So I've got to bunk off tomorrow as well. Got to get a new crossmember from Rally Design and modify it to fit in time for the London to Brighton. All things considered, a pretty bad day
  21. He's even picking up a whore on the way through. She's known as Fleshcadillac. Sounds like a comfy girl
  22. Has anybody got an Amphicar?? They are pretty cool and may be the tool for the job
  23. Just had a look on the Met office site. There is a severe weather warning for London and the south of England. Good job there are no major events on this weekend in the London/South area, otherwise this would be a problem
  24. That will be a pretty dull concert. Don't think she's much of a singer. Especially not any more.
