  1. Somebody asked me if my 1600 super Mk2 cortina was a real one ( I think he meant 1600E). I replied that I didn't think anyone was making fibreglass ones yet. tinker lol!
  2. Weather is looking good for Friday Not putting my name on the list as I'm going in my Mercury truck as the Tina is still down and out. Probably catch up with some of you there though.
  3. I've run my truck at both places with no belts no problem. Think there may be a cut off. IE cars quicker than 10.99 need belts.
  4. Not Mk 2 Cortina with that handbrake and the extra mounts
  5. If you've got the cable, I should be able to put the ends on for you. Just did some for my Cortina the other week.
  6. I had a closer look at all the documentation today (now I've stopped bitching about it) and it lists a 3 pin connector for the RPM sensor on my harness but alas, mine is only 2. So I'm sure theyve fooked up. I would try to get one from a scrappy but they're pretty spiteful these days and I have already bought a newun, so I think I'll have a moan up and get it sorted. Thanks again for your ideas Tom and Jim (not you Johnny)

  8. Hi. Thanks for the wing. I got some made for my truck in black and white by a company called states plates. It was ages ago but they were really good and I'm sure they'll do black n silver
  9. Ta very much. Do you think I may have been supplied the wrong harness then seeing as it doesn't fit the Vauxhall crank sensor?
  10. If you have an ignition only (IE not injected and no dizzy) set up in your car or know somebody that has ....... does the ECU take the RPM pulse from the crank sensor at the front of the engine, or am I supposed to have the later type cam sensor on the back of the head??? The harness I have been supplied has a two pin plug for the RPM sensor, but my crank sensor is 3. I checked another crank sensor and a cam sensor on a late Caibra but thay were all 3 pin connections. Anyone able to shed any sensible light on this please?
  11. I've got a part time job looking after historic racing cars. It's the bollox! The car I usually maintain is an ERA but its older than the one in that collection. I also get to play with an Aston DBR4 just like that ( I think they only made 4), a yellow Connaught A type and too many others to list If ever you see ant HGPCA meetings advertised during the year, I cannot recommend them enough. Proper cars being driven flat out sideways. And they do sound the nuts. Often get GT40s, RS26000s and lotus Cortinas along to keep OSFers happy too.
  12. I'm keen if I'm not working. Let you know nearer time
  13. I've got a helmet like that. Only used it once! I gota tiny flash every time I arced up. My eyes started to feel real achy so I stopped just in time I reckon
  14. . Seeing as you are a short arse, I would have thought you would like a chopped car to make you look a little taller Is 6 foot short? You're only tall because you have hair. No, 6 foot is quite tall. Whats that got to do with you though?
  15. id have to see that to believe it. brave man Why brave? 12 years ago, Escorts were still being weighed in by the dozen.

  17. About 12(ish) years ago a mate of mine started building an escort with a 302 v8 in it. Just as it was taking shape he decided it needed a roof chop. Sorry to say that I have no pictures and due top a complete life change for him he sold it on. It went to Snodland in Kent for a while but was then sold on again. Does anybody know what happened to it? Wonder if it ever got finished. It did look good.
  18. Are you going to the Ashford meet at the end of the month? Perhaps I'll see you there and pay more attention!! Probably be in a black 1600E
  19. Definately don't remember! Was I in the Cortina with the flames?
  20. If you are crossing the line in top at almost your maximum revs, then surely your gearing is spot on. Any taller and you'll not get off the line as well. Any lower gearing (numerically higher) and you will have to let off at the top or over rev your motor.
  21. Every chance that you did. I live about a mile from there. My memory is shite though. What were you driving?
  22. OK thanks chaps. Bit of a bind as I'm looking for stuff to do. I'm at work for 12 hours with nothing to do! Haven't even got any car parts with me to play with.
  23. Can anybody enlighten me as to how I can get my pics from photobucket into the garage. I normally generate the codes and copy them, but it comes up with some crap about not altering the headings.
