  1. youll find belts on e bay right at this minute, they are rocking horse droppings alone, so dont ask for hardware
  2. our area is suppsed to be zero on the Esso super unleaded, that was a joke, the last i bought it was to test it, on advice it was ethanol free. it was 2%, as i measure it when i do a de ethanol before putting it in the car, but it also it had a low octane of 97 for a super unleaded, our local Esso's dont sell the 99, but that may be because they all have Tesco mini supermarkets attached, we have a few small BP ones similar, not looked recently tho tbh, as i only tried the Esso as a test because i was told it was ethanol free, but the cleanest ive found is Tesco Momentum 99, i used to be against supermarket fuel, but this seems to be all good

    indicator problem

Been thru all the above common problems with the earth, plugs etc and nothing wrong, the problem is, it seems to have a constant power source that can’t be extinguished, the bulb is lit with or without ignition, the indicators circuit thinks it has a blown bulb when it isn’t and the fault developed while parked up and wasn’t raining, the light unit is dry inside I’m going to disconnect the tow bar later as being a proper ford one it’s a plug n play electrics which plugs into a light unit, see if that makes any difference
  8. slightly off topic as its not so old school ford mk6 (54 plate) transit, swb box van, has a genuine ford tow bar fitted, drove home all fine and used left hand indicator to pull on the drive, all seemed fine, parked up, locked the van with the remote, this was about 8pm the rear of the van was seen by the wife and daughter a couple of times during the evening and nothing seemed amiss at 10-15pm when the wife came home after collecting the daughter from work at around 11-30pm, the wife went out looking for the cat, when she noticed the left hand rear indicator was illuminated, she called me and i couldnt turn it off, engine starts, right hand indicatoor works fine, left hand rear indicator bulb still illuminated, left hand indicator operation is that the 2 front bulbs flash very fast and the rear one stays illuminated the bulb will not go out, no matter what i do, ive had to remove the bulb for now till i have daylight anyone had similar issues or have any idea why

  16. had a similar discussion with someone last week, we have roads in southend, and lots of them that the residents end up parking streets away from their front door, of the roads just too far from the front door without drives, then like my house we have a drive for 2 cars side by side, but we are a 3 car household, soon to be 4, how realistically is it supposed to work, as you say, extension leads from hell. only to come out in the morning to find the local tower block plugged into your electric, they just havnt given any thought into it, and its all about Boris getting his oats
  17. certainly wouldnt do it until forced to Boris clearly dosnt wear the trousers in his house and its his girlfriend calling the shots
  18. what Nick failed to mention is, the mk2 escort / fiesta mirror will fit, subject to having the correct seals for the door, so if the mk2 mirrors come without, thats where buying a cheap set of magnum ones just for the seal is handy, as they come with both seal types, (the mk2 van and estate use the same door as a mk1) and in fact the box says fiesta and not escort, even though theyve been supplied for the escort, with ref to hole spacing, i would presume that really all depends on the mirror that was fitted before, but the holes for the original fit 1300E mirror are 10mm dia, so theres a bit of scope with that particular one
  19. i will text him and tell him to look at your reply

  21. i have 3 of these, fantastic things for maintaining the battery, one has kept my BMW battery good for 7 years, and an escort one for 5 and the other for 3 so far, i also have a LIDL one, thats ok ish, but i dont trust it as when it goes into top up charge mode, it seems to get stuck there
