don't think you can add up Kellye lol 5 cars ???? -
from what ive heard, and a friend with experience of their product, autosparks looms should be avoided at all costs
-
anything like my classic car policy and the premium is so cheap to start with that I doubt its worth their while tbh
-
as a base model, i wouldn't have thought it worth much more than that as a complete running serviceable car tbh, whats still to be put into it would far out weigh its worth, and ive only heard the words rolling shell so far, what about the V5, vin and body plates, without those, the DVLA wont entertain a new V5, just been through this with Nicks car, we also had to have a completely assembled car as is was made, sending over photos off of all the areas they wanted, the engine number also had to match their records

are you still supplying the members free oil this year Kellye, or did they all mop it up last year -
and make sure the pump face and block face are spotless, you will be surprised what you can leave behind on the face

there is normally a trickling supply of genuine ford gaskets come upon e-bay, and no doubt about it the quality difference is visible, if not treat yourself to a gasket set made by Victor Reinz, the genuine ford head gaskets are victor reinz, and they are about the best quality there is, but to get that one I think you need to buy a gasket set, coat the gasket in multi purpose grease and bobs your uncle, make sure you torque load the bolts properly, a silicon sealant can also be used, but on that seal I've found it to be fairly ineffective for some unknown reason, and seems to cause a leak rather than prevent (just personal experience on several occasions), but Wurth sealant seems to be the mechanics favourite, and their cans are a lot easier and far less messy than trying to dispense the ford one, on the transit engine mentioned above, the sealant is the gasket, its designed not to have a gasket, just the sealant, so it becomes the gasket rather than compliment the gasket

theres lots of different engine bay looms, and a few different under dash ones, so you need to be a bit specific on application really

Brand new Italian Weber 32 DGAV Carb
Ray replied to caprimk1v4's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS FOR SALE
if you look on the webcon site, the DGAV is an auto choke carburettor for pinto engines, the DGV is for the 1.3 and 1.6, which ford mainly fitted to the GT crossflow on the mk1 (uk), the DFE is in the Haynes manual, but was a very early carb uperseeded by the DGV, tbh, ive not seen a DFE in use, only the DGV, and theres no sign of support for the DFE on the webcon site that I can see, but the early GT engine had small bore exhaust, and that ceased production in 1970 for the larger bore and different manifold, perhaps that's when the carb was changed -
Brand new Italian Weber 32 DGAV Carb
Ray replied to caprimk1v4's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS FOR SALE
the 1300GT carb is a 32/36 DGV, that im 100% on, and std mex was same unit re jetted I thought, but could be wrong that the DGAV was an auto choke carb for the RS2000 -
is there not an online petition for this that people can sign Scott

for me, the words RED TOP, just conjure up the picture of a glass bottled pint of milk, with a red foil top, from when I was a kid, the type that used to be delivered by milkmen, don't seem to have any of those round here anymore either

ahh its using your dodgy oil that's caused his need for an engine re build then, I know your supposed to re cycle , but that's taking it a tad too far lol
-
you can buy an expensive kit from Fuzz Townsends oil site to remove the ethanol, its just a 20 litre container and a fancy tap, a 3 litre container (think its 3 lires from memory), and a funnel, you put 18 litres of fuel in, then literally just add water, shake it up and wait for it to settle, drain off the water and ethanol into the 3 litre bottle, and that also tells you the ethanol percentage that was in that fuel, then the funnel has a raised outlet, so any water/ethanol mix that you may have missed sinks to the bottom of the funnel and doesn't go into the tank had a little hair pulling time when I first read the instructions, that i was going to put water in my kin expensive petrol lol, but it works tetraboost is even easier, as long as you know how many litres of fuel you have, you just pour in a measured amount to that amount of litres, the higher the star rating you want, the more tetraboost is added
-
tetraboost, mix up your own proper 4 or 5 star see the tetraboost web site I even remove the ethanol as well, as its not just the engine that's affected from that crap in the fuel
-
yeah yours is pretty slick Kelly, or should that be oil slick
-
you either have the wrong alternator, or the wrong pulley on the correct alternator, simple as that, I have nicks car at the moment, he fitted a wosp alternator, and its sitting 2mm too far fwd tearing at the belt, its getting a Lucas ACR back on it with the correct pulley, correct pulleys are hard to find, as the ACR had so many fit types, but if you buy the alternator from AAP Oldham you will get the alternator with the correct pulley the bracket above is the correct one unless you have a mex
