  1. OK, thanks 😊
  2. Unless things have changed , you can. Back in the day Ford themselves sold shells. If you had an bad accident, the car was reshelled, and still kept its ID
  3. If you had a average rusty one, it would make financial sense to reshell into a new shell, but only if the issues had been sorted out.
  4. That's interesting to know.
  5. Oh dear
  6. It was the Higgins shells that I was thinking about, just there was a lot of talk about them when they first started selling them, but its all gone a bit quiet now. Lots of negative comments. I just wondered if they had addressed some of the quality issues reported.
  7. I'm interested in any news / feedback on the "New" MK2 Escort shells. I haven't heard much about them recently. There was a lot of talk about the poor quality at first, but not much info to be had now they have been about for a while. Anyone got any feedback ?
  8. Hijack alert . I haven't heard much about the new shells recently. Any one care to comment. I'll start a "New shells" post 😃
  9. Shooting Brake, I believe is the correct term. 😬
  10. I'm after a brown inner door handle, for a mk2 van, probably the same as a car. Also the back door rod guide , and rubber buffer. Can anyone help ? Thanks Johnny
  11. OK great , that's sorted that out then thanks. I'll get a 1600 one and make it fit. 🙃
  12. Are aftermarket crossflow exhaust manifolds for the 1300 and 1600 , the same these days. Or if I buy one will it hang low on a 1300 ?
  13. Well done , and thank you .😃
  14. You and me both 😄
  15. If the anti roll bar is pointing down. And it gets lower by the minus 2 springs, surely the arc of the anti roll bar getting flatter, means the bottom of the strut is pushed back, meaning less castor from the upright , and more camber . I'm confused
  16. That should be less caster And the bush length will have no bearing on the caster
  17. Great, I have some thin wall tube, in my usfull box. Just happens to be 19mm od 16mm Id. Thanks very much for the quick info, I'm actually doing the job right now 🙃 I guessed at 34mm looking at the nut and hole for the split pin. I might try that, and check the caster. As I have just fitted lowering springs of minus 2 inch, it will have more caster now.
  18. Or does anyone know the tube size, or can measure one they have in there box of bits, I could make something up perhaps ?
  19. Thanks for the quick reply, I'm putting all the front end back together, and it just didn't look right. The tubes must have been lost somewhere in South Africa 😬 Any one know where I can get some tubes from, other than buying a set of poly bushes. I have new arms with new rubber bushes, but no tubes 🙄
  20. Quick question, I'm fitting new track control arms to my mk2 van. Is there supposed to be a tube that goes though the std bush, onto the anti roll bar, to stop you over tightening the nut. Mine does not have , and I can just keep tightening way past the split pin to castellated nut . Something is not right. Any idea's?
  21. That's how I interpret it, as you say most mods fit into that statement.
