  1. Ordered some small screws and rubber rings in UK, cost for parts 11,36 Euro. Cost for postage 9,67 Euro. Total 21,03 Euro. Guess how much I have to pay on taxes and handling-charges to the Postman to get the parcel? Winner receives a medal.
  2. If you start the car the Flintstone way you can remove the starter as well!
  3. A Facet pump for carbs is specced at 1.5 Amps, the Bosch pumps for EFi are alot bigger and draw much more current.
  4. Electronic ignition depends on make/model but on average 4 Amps. Fuel pumps for carbs 1-2 Amps.
  5. His website hasn't been updated for years. His ebay-store: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/speedshackautoparts Wheelnuts: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183680134167 These have UNF thread. I have (had) boxes of old Ford nuts but never seen the one you are after.

  9. It is not hard to make a better product than Lucas .... to create that authenticity "Lucas-feeling" they even make a special product 🤣
  10. If the wiring is standard a 45 Amp version should be ok. Are you sure the alternator is at fault? I've seen people replace regulators, replace looms, replace alternators only to find that the metal adjustment bracket is broken in half. Had this myself 2 times when I had the RS2.
  11. Are you back home yet? Every time I go in the garage this black wiper thingy is looking at me ...
  12. A simple check to see if one of the diodes in the alternator is out: locate the small blue wire from the alternator to the charging light in the dash. Fit a simple diode (1N4007 is ok) between the wire and the alternator. Anode to dash-light, cathode to alternator. This means that current can only flow to alternator to energize the alternator. Higher voltage from alternator cannot get to dashlight when alternator is "working". Newer Fords had this diode as standard.
  13. Probably a diode inside that's gone dead (and check brushes) so maybe no need for a rebuild.

  15. In the early 90's we (every year) went for a day out in the Mk2 visiting the Essex RSOC regional day at Boreham. Night ferry on Saturday from Hook of Holland to Harwich, 7am arrival on the Sunday in Harwich. Short drive to Boreham for the event. This is 1993 when the Escort RS Cosworth just had arrived. At the end of the day back to Harwich for (again) the night ferry back. Back at work at 9am on the Monday !
  16. It is the other way around: it doesn't rain for more than a few hours in the UK 🙃
  17. Strangest ebay-add in years ! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385495589417
  18. How does the owner of the blue V8 get in the car? All doorhandles have been removed. Or does the missus have to stay in the car the whole time to open the door from the inside?
  19. Maybe repost -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BKj0z_bGaU
  20. Newest episode with the Dolomite was on Discovery Channel over here yesterday. It had Dutch subtitles which were awful. I don't need them but you can't turn them off and when you see lots of translation mistake you keep noticing them so after half an hour I switched channels.
  21. The 2000E is the 3-rail gearbox, the Type 3 is the single rail version of the 2000E. The Type 2 is the single rail gearbox used on most Mk1/2's , the Type E is the somewhat bigger version for the RS models. Type E has the 1"x23 spline.
  22. Are there partnos for the gearbox assy in there that begin with 72BG ? (4-speed type E).
