I emailed them in the past. Reply did take a while to come back. I got a short and unhelpful response to my query, sent them a reply and never heard back from them so spent my money elsewhere… Have bought from them previously though with no issues…

I’ve always driven my cars (toys) as often as possible no matter what the weather. Always buy to drive and not to sit idle in the garage waiting for the sun to come out. Each to their own I guess… im also in my 50’s and the Mk1 escort is my link to my youth as well.. 1st car was a mk2 escort. I always remember back in the day people saying car finance ruined the car scene, now it’s collectors in it for the money and driving the prices up etc.. cars going to shows on trailers 🙈 Not into car shows too much myself as often up here it’s the same cars doing the rounds so gets kinda boring after a while. Far prefer a run with some mates, stop for Fish & Chips and a bit fun on the way home…

Pictures of what I had fitted compared with BaileyMex’s seats (Thanks for the pic!) As you can see the headrest version sit very upright at the back but can’t tell from the picture if the non headrest equivalent are any different. Look the same just without the headrest tbh… RS1600 Contour seat looks a bit more reclined and also has a different style base which looks like I’d sit lower in the seat/car !?

Currently have rs turbo recaro seats fitted that are very comfortable and sit low enough for plenty of head clearance but considering how much it’ll cost to get them upholstered to match the rear seats I’m looking into a more period looking seat that fits the existing seat mounts

Looking to get new seats for my “early” shell mk1 but can’t decided which ones to go for. The car came with contour style seats with headrests as per listed on eBay & works escort parts but removed them as the back sat too upright so felt uncomfortable and my head wasn’t far off the roof (I’m only 5 10”) They also sell a non headrest version (low back) style similar to what BaileyMex has fitted to his car but worried I’ll have the same height problem with these seats so was looking at the “rs1600 contour” seats. Anyone using the rs1600 contour seat that could give any feedback ? Ill try add pics below of the ones I had (headrest version) , the ones I’m considering (rs1600 contour) & the non headrest similar/ same as BaileyMex has fitted to his car Cheers Frank
