do you think you could split the wheel nut? like a sharp chisel on the head of the nut to one side and try to crack it? worth a try, once its cracked should come off it you pull the wheel good and proper

got no idea what a timing strut looks like, got a pic of one on a car?

i wouldnt worry too much about the wheel, it wont break, the stud will snap or the nut will come off before the wheel gets damaged, can you get a sharp chisel round the back of the wheel and break the stud?

i read somewhere that the quickest way to do it would be to remove the other 3 nuts, and use the wheel as a lever to snap the stud, sounds a bit ham fisted i know, the other method is to try and drill it out which sounds like it would take forever and a dozen dril bits

i doubt the numbers will be illegal, ive seen loads of the new vw beetles dressed up like herby with the vinyl sticker kits you find on ebay, and they have massive door numbers

well, i say its jacked up, but really its just got standard rear springs, -2" front springs, 15" wheels on the back and 13" on the front, has a nice stance to it. what sort of performance could you get out of it with the tiddler xflow? theyre a good engine and all that but wouldnt mind knowing what sort of thrashing you gave it generally and how it was in the mk3

i know, i think as a minimum they should have all came with the 3.0 essex rather than stupidly small pintos and xflows

decided against those size of tyres, will be too much ballooning going on, and pulling the arches out on a 4 door gets a bit tricky as theres not a lot to work with near the back door. will get some pics up as its coming along quite nicely, just think matt black muscle car and you wont be far wrong, but its all show and no go for now, pretty much standard 1600 xflow engine and box. its just a cruising machine anyway so im not too fussed for now

now im not usually a fan of anglias, but that looks absolutely fantastic, got a bit of an american race car of the 60's look to it with the side stripes and the painted steels to match

i might be getting some 265/50/15 tyres, my wheels are 8 inches from the outer lip to outer lip, will these tyres be ok to use? and will there be any pitfalls in handling etc? they are only going on the back of a jacked up mk3 cortina

those do actually look really good, im not wanting to roll the arch, i need to flare it out by quite a bit, dont think ill be getting hold of some bluebird wings though, or any for that matter, need to do this with what ive got, which is tools and a load of body filler and fibreglass

if onyl it was as easy as leaving the models outside or in a bucket of something, it takes quite a long time to weather a model, i used to do it a lot with model railroad/cars/wargame stuff

whats the best way to flare steel wheel arches, ive seen pictures of lots of slots cut into them and then beaten out but want a bit more of an in depth description of what to do. they dont have to be really fancy factory looking when finished, just how they were done back in the 70's or something. thanks

my mk3 cortina, sold to me as a solid car and turned out to be made up of 99.9% fibreglass bodgery on the chassis rails, and the inner sills/floor were fibreglass all the way down. sorted now but for £1300 at the time i was gutted to say the least

theres website somewhere that sells 1/18 models in various states of disrepair, think theyre about $130 each. its funny because in america scrapyards like that are quite common with loads of 60s and 70s cars, i wish i lived in america as muscle cars are my favourite and you can pick up a half decent one for like $500

i get forced to watch that crap, but really if anybody ever did watch it that alex girl just made you so angry, if i ever see her in the street ill smack her in her stush face (her made up word) she will never be ready............you have to have watched it to get that.
