At last ! Picked up what will be my new daily driver the other night - a LHD 1975 mk2 2 door 1300. To say im excited is a massive understatement !!! It's standard apart from a very well made but god awful interior and some weird 13" alloys on it. I've got a couple of pics and put them on photobucket but im not sure how to get them on here ??? Plans are to work through it as a driving project. Im not sure of exactly what I want it to be just yet but here are a few of my ideas: - Security devices Bilstein suspension Lowered 1" or 2" Tramp bars Panhard rod LSD Bigger / better brakes Type 9 5spd 1600 xflow on 40's Bias pedal box Move battery and tidy up engine bay ancillaries etc Low back black vinyl seats up front, re trimmed rear, dash top, pillar trims and black headlining Mexico front spoiler Quarter bumpers. Steel, fibreglass or carbon fibre ??? RS boot spoiler Sport decal kit ??? Possibly spotlights ??? What do you think ? Please can someone tell me how to get photo's on here ? Cheers Darren

They do seem to be all over the place. There is a green arched mk2 with a YB in it on ebay at the moment (for some reason I cant copy the link across) and its up for £5.5k. Ok, it isn't what im after as id prefer a mk1 and it be NA but it does seem very cheap compared to others

Hi, I've not been on here for a while but have recently been getting an OSF itch in the shape of a two door mk1 escort or failing that a mk2. The problem being though that they seem to have gone mental in price ! What's sort of budget should I be looking at for a nice useable car that's taxed and tested and doesn't need a full restoration - maybe just odds and sods as a rolling project sort of thing. Can someone please tell me (or show me an old thread) what's involved with fitting a 2.0 black top zetec on carbs to a mk5 cortina ? I know I'll need to modify the sump, water rail and sort some engine mounts out but what else is there ? Its a 4 speed box that'll I'll be using for now. Cheers in advance !

Good and bad people all over. Just cos they're rozzers, doesnt make that company imune. I know a few coppers but to be fair, most of em are retired now so can only really comment on their era so would possibly not be a fair representation of today's policing really. alloy bodied heavy duty plastic castor wheels from an alloy tower are my favourite. Each wheel has a safe working load when stationary of 700kg so one in each corner would be good for a complete car to go on. Plus they have about 300mm of height adjustment to Not sure how much they are though as i "aquired" mine

How about a donkey out of a Honda S2000 with some kind of wooshh wooshh bang bang thing strapped to the side of it ? OR, stick a blower on the side of a Zetec / Duratec ? OR, bit different and am not sure if / how you could RWD it but what about an EVO or VW 2.0t unit ? Mind you, problem with doing stuff that's a bit different is that it often can be quite expensive i suppose. Bit random, what are the new ish BMW or merc engines like ? There's plenty of those in breakers yards...

I agree with what your saying Mk2Jo but on the flip side, its only because these cars are getting so bloody expensive over here and dare i say it, not always worth the money IMHO, that people look to get a better deal from elsewhere

What's the crack with these - seem to be a few of them popping up on flea bay etc. Are they right or left hookers ? Ok, when you say it out loud then it does sound a bit daft as all the thieving scum could do the same but surely there must be a place where you can get hold of this info if you're not a thief ? Read through the article in CF last night and what a place Ive never had anything done by Martin and his team yet but have spoken to him before. Proper sound bloke and if the pictures are anything to go by, id gladly give him my hard earned to do me an Escort. Just wish i had the bloody funds
