  2. I am confused now, as the petition states "Details of Petition: "Currently cars have to have been constructed before a set date - the 1st January 1973 to be eligible for historic car tax exemption. We the undersigned would like the date to be move as it has been fixed for a number of years. A number of cars which were built in British factories are becoming few and far between and would like the Government to help preserve these cars by offering and extension on the current exemption date.", which does not indicate a rolling date at all... Still if I'm wrong, I'm wrong!

  5. Or clean the glass with some methylated spirit and then apply the tax disc holder to the screen. Can clean the tax disc holder with meth too...
  6. The 25 year exemption was never a rolling 25 year datum point, it was fixed at 1973 from day one.
  7. But the smell of peanut butter makes me heave. I cannot imagine how unpleasant it would be to have my car smelling of something that makes me nauseous!
  8. You have to pay to have them removed if I remember correctly. 3 years the points are valid, 4 years before they can be removed from your license.
  9. Decent paint suppliers should have swatches of paint that you can put against the known colour and compare them.

    Collision

Some rather convoluted story lines there, like what was the documents that doris stole from her bosses laptop, what is the guy in the white van importing, why has that copper been away, and some other stuff too! I'll give tonight's episode a chance though I think..
  14. We bought a new house almost 10 years ago, and Vista's right, when we asked for the sungle sockets to be replaced with doubles (the house was still foundations at this point) Barratts wanted to charge us over £2,000! Regarding penalty payments, we had a completion date etc sorted, and moved our first van full of contents to the new house in time for the hand over of keys, only to be told that there were no carpets in the house, and we couldn't go in yet. When we brought the rest of our stuff over, we were told they were still waiting for the majority of the carpets to be delivered. We had to sleep in a hotel that night (at their expense I might add). The following week I had the week off work in order that I could sort the house out, and the builders had to spend a lot of the week doing rectification work such as replacing the bath (which was split) painting and other minor works. All this snagging should have been done before they agreed to hand they keys over! The Regional Manager offered us £100 compensation, I wrote to the Boss (Sir something or other) and eventually they paid our mortgage for the first month (around £650). They don't like negative publicity! So read the small print of your contract, and if you can, get some money off them as compensation.
  15. I particularly like the bits where people seem to be getting upset and asking him to write in english! lmao

  18. Was working in an Office in Croydon on a night shift, and hoping to get a train home at 7 am to Hove. There was gravel being blown against the window, which wasn't too bad except we were on the 11th floor! Couldn't get home, slept in the mail room, did a 40 hour shift, and got paid for it too! Lost most of the fence panels in the garden and one shed collapsed, which got renewed on the insurance, which the fence panels didn't
  19. Someone I know bumped the back of a car in the warm up lane at the 'Pod, small dint in rear panel of the car, driver reckoned £150 repair. Got a letter this week saying that the claim was now £750, new rear panel, bumper, bumper brackets, exhaust section, boot floor! The naughty boy had reported that the accident happened in a 'queue of traffic'. They were advised that the queue was on a raceway, and it is probbaly a fraudulent claim. Wonder how it will pan out?...
  20. Surely that depends on the subject matter, doesn't it Dr Jo?
