  1. A mate of mine works at a Tyre place and they've got a set of 185/55/13's directional tyres. Not a known make like Yokohomo or Toyo unfortunately But they are only £25 a corner. Collect from me in Bedfordshire
  2. As Pip says the guys who do our rads have one in stock. Give me a shout tomorrow Mark and I'll sort you out a price for it. Pipster you may regret this if Mark buys the one they have... they may not get one when you need it They are munching their way through that disintegrating 2.8 rad you gave me
  3. By reducing the drag on crank you will get a free'er revving engine so bin the plastic propeller in favour of an electric fan, bin the fuel pump in favour of an electric one. Fit a lighter flywheel from the smaller engine. Say on a pre-crossflow, rather than lighten a 1500 flywheel, just fit an Anglia one, job done. Also fit a lower ratio diff like a 4:1 or a 4:4... this will give the illusion the car is faster because its soo much quicker off the mark.
  4. I sent a set with Parcel Farce and I am sure it was £36 for the 4.
  5. How much you got to spend Jo ? That would be a better starting point really.. If you say only had £100 what would you spend it on If you have £200 etc etc
  6. If you want to buy some wheels and bolt them on then 6x13's are the size to go for with the most sensible tyre size being 185/60/13's A chap called Steve Bennett, who has a Harris powered car has 7x13's on the back of his car and they are made by a company called 'Two Gates' and they go on a treat, but that is not the norm. If you are talking Superlites then you have to dick about machining the back of the wheels. Like I said... if 7's were easy dont you think we'd all be running them...
  7. Daggle There is a lot more to this than meets the eye Which is why you dont see many Anglias on 7's Marty has got them on his car but you need to talk to him about how he did it and tyre choice is crucial. Also, you cant run a rear disk conversion with 7's
  8. Whoah Wessie that is some SERIOUS inset on those wheels... Whatever you are going to run them on you are going to need some serious wheel spacers..... and Wheel studs as long as your arm...
  9. Exhaust Wrap does work, but it will shorten the life of your manifold greatly. If its just got a liberal coating of surface rust and isnt actually rotten then have it shot blasted and then painted with one of the exhaust paints out there, the one on my Zetec is an Ashley one that looked pap, Dave at Retro Ford got it blasted and then painted it with an exhaust paint and its just a lovely satin black colour with no sign of the paint coming off or discolouring in 3 months.
  10. LOVE this pic of my motor... Good day.. shame we didnt get a few more there... but it is January.....
  11. I know Midland Wheels are having them remade, they've already done the 12" ones for the Mini market and I saw in one of the mags they are looking at getting the 13" ones done for the Ford market. They are such a nice wheel though...
  12. Me and the missus are in this months Fast Ford.... Which is unusual as we are with our 'plastic fantastic cars' and not the Anglia... for a change
  13. Pro-Alloy are your boys for that sort of thing ! www.proalloy.co.uk This is an RS500 intercooler, ally Rad & turbo cooler rad designed so it can bolt in as one unit. This is why I chose them to make the tanks for 105Speed.... they aint cheap but they are the nuts !
  14. Does this mean you have a three rail bullet box with an Ally casing ?
  15. You haven't fallen for the old left hand right hand thread thing have you ?
  16. Here's the engine bay... Has that... installed with a crane look about it... but as has been said it certainly shifts and the lad has done it all himself on a budget...
  17. 3 Door Cossie Rims !!
  18. I'd second that !! Dont give up the Anglia mate !
  19. Fair enough... I'll give you a race when i've finished building the turbo'd, supercharged and nitrous injected 1298cc chevette engine (that's just the starter motor for the jet engine in the boot) for my Anglebox I'll send you a Bungee too ..... to keep the doors shut when I pass you...stop them getting blown off....
  20. Would that be the Gold Plated Throttle Bodies for £2k sir ? The Titan Roller Barrells work out about a grand with the trumpets etc Traditional Jenvey bodies are cheaper.
  21. Its an old Vauxhaul engine I know that.... And Morely, I'm just getting your back after your Wheezy 16v CVH comments... I got 180 from my Zetec with just a pair of carbs, a 4 branch and Focus12 Cams from Kent. On a Duratec you just need to bolt on a pair of decent Direct To Head Roller Barrels and you will see 180 easy. BUT If its what you know and you are happy with it... fill your boots.... or your engine bay.
  22. I reckon it's the equivalent of cross-dressing. Anyone who puts a non-Ford engine into a ford is therefore a transvestite. There are hundreds of hi-po Ford options to choose from. Vauxhall's are sh*te. Unless, of course, this is 'OSV' and I've mistakenly logged onto the wrong forum! Yep... I'm a bit 'old fashioned' like that.... personally I think Ford car, Ford motor.... There are plenty options out there, Zetec, Cossie YB, and now the Duratec. XE's built their reputation in rallying where people were spending fortunes on them to get the power up and they respond well to big money tuning. Well now those same people are going to Duratec because they make stonking power when they are worked, lighter engine etc etc I dont think a standard XE will make much more power than a standard Duratec on Carbs / Throttle Bodies And judging by Morelys 'average' quarter mile times in the OSFDC the XE aint all that its cracked up to be, unless you spend a fortune on it.
  23. Same as the OSFDC...... quickest over the quarter mile should tell you who's the fittest.....
  24. Thanks guys... I wish I could take all the credit but it was Dave and Wayne at Retro Ford who did the install.... I helped, with passing spanners, sweeping up spillages, cleaning the underside of the car, making sure the place didnt burn down when the tunnel got welded it, making tea, cleaning all the underside of the car Although I can claim credit for the Ally tanks... they were my idea... oh and I wired in the ECU and all the other bits too....
  25. Sorry mate... just been getting the car out there and waiting for the feed back. If there is anything you fancy let me know. Cheers Neil
