Original New Ford crossflow thermostat housing
caprimk1v4 replied to Jerrytom161's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS WANTED
Hi, I also have one brand new Motorcraft Water pump (Fixed fan not viscous) left, but it is £110.00 posted. Regards. -
Hi Katana, Found your switch, I will send the cleanest of the 3 I have, have tested bulb and switch in my car and is working (well it was before it was posted). Cheers. Al.

Hi Ian, If your not in a rush (say next week to 10 days), I will have found which box has my spare switches in and I know I have the correct "Illuminated" hazard switch with the correct "Symbol Orientation" on. If you still have the alternator bracket for the "RS", we can have a deal on that (Not a straight swap, the bracket is worth more than the switch), if that is any good for you. Ta. Al.

333157391354 Above Ebay number is the switch you need complete with the lamp holder. Regards.

The Escort came from the factory with non illuminated switches, switch id is 75AB, but most got changed to Cortina items over the years, I have bought 2 new Cortina hazard switches when they were £4.32 each, but will fit them to my own Escorts, they are £35+ now when they come up. Late Cortina MK3 used the same illuminated switch in the run out models before MK4.

Ford Cortina MK4 & MK5, the switch number needs to start 74BG, the whole switch number is -: 74BG 13A 350 AA I have no new spare one's to sell, but I may have a good used one if your not able to find one on Ebay etc-etc, you will need to make sure the switch has got it's removable lamp holder with it. Regards.

Brand new Italian Weber 32 DGAV Carb
caprimk1v4 replied to caprimk1v4's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS FOR SALE
Hi, Lots & lots of interest in the carb, the little aluminium tag has 761F BA now that comes back as a 32/36 DGAV 5D carb, but this carb on the bottom edge has stamped into it 32 DGAV 5 D and it deffo has 32mm throttle butterflies, I have a 32/36 Weber off my from new 1600 Escort MK2 Ghia Auto, the tag on that is 771F CA and that comes back as a 32/36 DGAV, the throttle butterflies on that are one of 32mm & one of 36mm. It has 2 diaphragm's on it, one mechanical via a lever, the other is a vacuum operated one, and I think that is the Anti-stall device. I assumed that all 32mm twin chokes were intended for 1300 Crossflows, and all 1600 GT Crossflows and GT spec 1600/2000 Pinto had 32/36 and jetted as per engine. Any how, I have added some pic's. Ford used so many variations on carbs, it is very confusing. Al. -
I have for sale, 1x brand new Weber 32 DGAV carburettor, it is a Genuine Italian carb, not the Spanish cack that is available. Should be standard fitment on 1300 Crossflow GT & E models, also 1300 Sport MK1 & 2, should therefore fit most 1300 crossflow if you have the twin choke inlet manifold. It has the Ford/Weber aluminium i.d. tag on the float chamber, it is as new (it is brand new). Will put pictures up when I get home. £255.00 with free postage. Please ask if you need more info. Ta. Located North Wales.

Hi fella, Yep, it does sound like diff issue, but as said, they tend to rumble rather than whine. They are a sensitive component, not only can noise come from bearings (roller or ball) that have worn, but as bearings wear, it will allow slight movement of other parts, like the pinion mesh into the crown wheel, this itself then creates noise because the mesh of the teeth are not at optimum contact depth/position. I would at this point in time leave as is, and monitor the sound as and when you use it, the chances are, it will not change in noise level for some considerable time, if ever, as I have said, I have had whining diffs over the years, and have added thousands of miles on top of them with no increase in noise. On the other hand, if the noise level/sound does/did change by a good amount, I would then factor in a diff overhaul with new bearings in the diff & halfshafts and a full diff set up ( professional job), done on it, allow best part of £350.00 for it depending on what it needs & postage to/from Andy at Arrow Eng, but believe me Andy is a TOP GUY, and it will be right and silent when it came back. Regards. Al.

No, its only if you really go over the top with the dilution ratio, it will foul the plugs, not at normal levels.
-
Never thought to even mention it on here due to the FORD in OLD SKOOL FORD. You could have had them for a 4 pack of Newcastle Brown no problem. What a "T**T". I loved the "Slant" in it's day, always wanted to do a 2600 "Stroker" slant, but then went onto Fords and never turned back. Sorry mate, just never ever thought.
-
No, it will not hurt it in any way. The worst that can (and will happen), if you really overdose the dilution ratio, is it will foul the plug tips up, the same as if you use far too much REDEX in the fuel, that will produce hard deposits on the plug tips, but ok after a good clean. What you must stay clear of, is using more than one product at a time !!, they can counter act each other.

Damm, I weighed in 3 Vauxhall "slants" just before Christmas, 2 x 2.3,s and 1 x 1800, had them on Ebay for £100 for the 3 , no interest in them, so got the scrap value on them.

Sorry to say I DO REMEMBER 5 STAR fuel, makes me feel real old, all of them, the choice was great, 2*,3*, 4* and 100+ 5* In UK, Tesco do a 99 Octane Super Green fuel, but loaded with Ethanol & GTL muck, that can eat through anything, rubber, brass, ali, steel. Crossflow heads no stronger than a Pinto head, but Pinto does have a greater exhaust valve heads compared to a Crossflow, don't know what effect that would have.!!??.

Tetra boost is also good stuff, but for me with my classics only amounting to about 10 miles in total in over 10 years, I don't get any benefit, I also use "BRIGGS & STRATTON" FUEL STABILISER not cheap but keeps the fuel quite fresh for a longer time.
