ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 If you could improve OldSkoolFord.co.uk, what would you do? Keep it sensible and realistic... ie: don't ask for a free Mk1 two door shell with every post.
mk1mexico Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 When i have read a pm make the icon go away without refreshing the page
mk1mexico Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 And a free mk2 2 door shell with every post
over_head_cam Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 I'd like to have a quid, every time someone asks "is my sierra/scorpio/xr3i/orion/mondeo/focus/saxo/2cv oldskool?"
X-pack-Glyn Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 more laydeez please...... oh, and a free 2 door shell with every post.

ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 16, 2007 Author Report Posted April 16, 2007 OHC, I might be asking you to delete some posts shortly. Do you reckon you could handle that?
Southernspeed Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 OK, serious reply from a 'noob' who uses other sites for other vehicles in my collection. The site I frequent the most and have well over 3000 posts is www.coloradok5.com . Things I don't like about this site that I'm used to on that site are: When you put your cursor on a post title on here, it shows you the latest reply, where as on my other site it show you the original question/post. Surely that's better so you can see if the original post is something you're interested in or are qualified to answer (tech). On this site, even though I ticked the box, I never get emails to tell me if a post I made/replied to has had further replies. For some bizarre reason, on my work PC the home page is all in order, but on my laptop at home, the home page is all screwy with stuff overlapping etc which doesn't happen with CK5, my other main site. Apart from that , speaking as a 'noob'!....great site that has really spurred me on to get this project done (the last few have been yanks) and Boxhill last Saturday made me want it done even more!!
arch Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 mee too lol yer tht would be good miss osf or sumit. what about a music an film page room thing talk about wat people are listenin to an wat they like an tht an wats cumin out an stuff
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 16, 2007 Author Report Posted April 16, 2007 Thanks for the reply. When you put your cursor on a post title on here, it shows you the latest reply, where as on my other site it show you the original question/post. Surely that's better so you can see if the original post is something you're interested in or are qualified to answer (tech). Other people have suggested that too. I've looked into doing that and it's not as straightforward as I'd hoped. I'll have another look at trying to sort it. On this site, even though I ticked the box, I never get emails to tell me if a post I made/replied to has had further replies. There's a bug somewhere, as I don't get email notifications either, but do get them for PMs. I'll do some investigation. For some bizarre reason, on my work PC the home page is all in order, but on my laptop at home, the home page is all screwy with stuff overlapping etc which doesn't happen with CK5, my other main site. That will most probably be to do with your laptop settings. Is it a different screen resolution to your works pc? Same browser?

That's what I'm thinking but all other sites I use open as normal on both PC and laptop except OSF.
Nettles Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Please please please is there any chance the garage facility could be updated. I really want to use it but my OSF is a 1953 Anglia E494A which is not included in the drop down menus. I’ve been totally hooked on the Oldskoolford site since I joined and I’ve met some great people, but I do feel that the site doesn’t cater for pre 1960’s OSF’s as good as it could…..Whinge over, Thanx.

Sorry m8, I thought I'd added it... It's there now.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 whens OSF contributor coming into play I'm working on it. It's a big job. Soon though.
mk2_escort_chick Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 erm...i really like the site. I agree about the whole cursor over he topic thingy I'm just waiting for the membership fee to come into place. I think it'll be interesting who will stay and who will go. It's a small price to pay for a great site and some wicked members
steve mk2 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 i think our avatar should be a mug shot of who we are then wen we go to shows we can put a face to osf name and not be baffled by a load of strangers we dont recognise. and not only be able to tell who people are wen they go to get sumin out their car or something?????

Admin Vista Posted April 17, 2007 Admin Report Posted April 17, 2007 Is there any way of adding a filter to the memberlist? It's over 6000 now and I use it to PM all the members I can find in my area when setting up local meets. Page by paging hundreds of pages of members and searching for all the variations people enter (towns / regions / counties etc) takes forever A search facility where you could enter key words would help (much like in an excel spreadsheet).
