Admin Vista Posted April 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted April 19, 2007 natural selection where only the best survive. how come we have chavs. they arent the best and certainly arent the pick of the bunch sorry...... Exactly my point, the brightest attract each other and their offspring benefit from that selective breeding, we have chavs because of the same phenomena.
Arched Escy Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 How come all religions are based on the past?Whens the last time you heard of a miracle?I've been brought up as a Catholic, but I do think it's a loada shite. It doesn't make sense. If Jesus could heal people, why didn't he live forever and try and stop all diseases? There is no evidence of anything in the bible. The New Testament is slightly believable, but the Old is a soooo funny!A talking snake? And how did Moses live to the ripe old age of 120?And Noahs Ark must've been fookin huge! Oh and remember the episode of the Simpsons where the dolphins took over?FPMSL!
HellRaizer Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 IMO religion is just something to "think" for people who are too weak minded to think for them selves, i would talk further but iv got 11 bourbon and colas and acoulpe of vodka orange's in my at the mo so it wouldnt make sense lol (yay for spell check lol) I do want to see a flying delorean though - that would be very cool I was going to make a flying, time traveling Escort van, but have you seen the price of flux capacitors lately!!
HellRaizer Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Oh and remember the episode of the Simpsons where the dolphins took over?FPMSL! Haha "king Snorkey"!!! Damn this is tame compared to OldSchool nzs religion thread! http://oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7778

I'd say the reverse is true, people make a concious choice of whether to believe, thereby clearly demonstrating the ability to think for themselves. One could argue that those that don't accept religion refuse to do so because they're too narrow minded to accept things beyond their comprehension. I don't understand thermonuclear physics or molecular biology but that doesn't mean they don't exist. See told you you were opening a can of worms Antz

See told you you were opening a can of worms Antz I made a conscious choice to not be religious (i had catholic veiws pushed upon me as a kid), and i think my above statment came out a bit wrong, but i dont see how a book writen thousands of years ago which was based on mostly dreams and visions can tell you how to live your life now!! I am not against/have no problem with religion (iv got several very religious friends) BUT don't try and tell me what to belive! [As i said up there /\/\ somewhere i have been drinking a fair bit]
atomic punk Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Whens the last time you heard of a miracle? When I was in Malta last week we visited a church. During the war a bomb fell through the roof of this church in the middle of a packed service; it hit the wall and skidded down the aisle without blowing up. Noone was even slightly injured. I'd call that a bloody miracle! I am not religiously inclined - but I think there may be some sort of higher intelligence - I mean, why are we here? There must be a good reason - is it just for the sake of existing and using up the worlds resources or is there some kind of purpose to our existence?

Nettles Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Long story short – I was christened and married in a church, not too sure about the whole heaven and hell thing, but I do believe in the afterlife. Don’t believe in ghosts and the one thing I can’t believe most of all is why the fook we’re talking about religion on this site!?!
