I think you need to play the music thing carefully. Go loud, but stick to Sinatra, Armstrong and the like. Then every ten songs, go Prodigy. That'll confuse her. :D

When I lived in a cul-de-sac many moons ago. I just went round to the neighbours, apologised in advance for any noise and told them to come to me if it was too much.

Within two days, I had two neighbours come round with beer, tool offers and assistance with welding and spraying. Quality!

Within three weeks, one of the aforementioned neighbours had a MkIII 'tina restoration in in his garage.

Theres a guy up my street typical self appointed niebour hood watch guy, there has'nt been an accident up my road for over 10 years, as soon as someones crashes into a parked car outside his sons house down the road he thinks the road has become part of Brands Hatch. He has now petitioned to have speed humps put up the road. Its a bus route so it has to be those little square ones, is they do I hope they put one right outside his house so he cant park properly and all the cars have to slow down right on his front door, W*NKER!

its sounds as if you're being pretty fair, if you were going at it constantly with a grinder or air chisel all day every weekend then she might have a point & you could well come unstuck.

I had a similar issue when doing a resto on a Firebird, trouble is the law favours the person with the greivance. I've also been in the position where I've had to make a complaint & have the guy out with the noise meter at 3am.

Have you spoken to her?

i havent actually spoken to her as the council wont tell me who made the complaint. i did say to them that if whoever it was had come to see me it would of been easier to sort out as i would know exactly what they considered to be the worst noise and when it was cuasing a problem and sorted something out. unfortunatly nobody actually said anything to me first they just ran to the council

Sounds like a similar situation a chap I know had... fell out with his neighbors over a boundary dispute, next thing the council are round saying he's running a woodworking business... he was renovating the house, making his own window frames ect...

I'm lucky with my neighbor, my garage shares a wall with their house so I try to be considerate and I ask him if he has any problems... It helps that he's got a Z28 Camaro with straight pipes... 8)
