sambo Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Here's the new (hopefully) car i've been saving up for, and providing the funds go through, it should be mine in a few weeks!! I'm a bit scared cos i only briefly viewed the car once (its 700 miles away) and didnt get a proper look at it. It coming without the zetec but pretty much everything else, so its just perfect for my N/A cossie / 16V pinto! Paid alot of money for it but its pretty sorted and unfortunatley mines too good to cut up and mess with so this is the perfect solution. Tell me what your thoughts are guys and gals, have i made the right decision?? I will miss my black beast soooo much man!! http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... hp?t=37056
Wessie Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 looks sweet but how much ! hope that engine been taken out reduced the pennies a bit
caprifan Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ...is that right, 14 grand........are you kidding
PAUL MANN Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 oh yes thats a good decision, what ever you paid for it i bet it would cost more to build yourself.
oliwally Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Mmmm Nice Shame Its Been Bubbled Though Does That Mean The Black Beast Is Up For Grabs Then
Hunter T Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Seriously good looking motor.... Good luck with it and yes definitely the right choice
Rick Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 ...is that right, 14 grand........are you kidding i bet it goes some , lot of money though
sambo Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Mmmm Nice Shame Its Been Bubbled Though Does That Mean The Black Beast Is Up For Grabs Then Well, the price we agreed isnt near that cos obviously i am not having the dry-sumped 220BHP zetec. Wicked spec shell-wise though but the only thing is, is that it has 16", modern offset wheels with no dish!! Still love the car though for all its goodies, excellent stopping power, 5-linked rear (just waiting for a cossie turbo one day!) So all i would have to do is drop a good lump in there. It could do with a re-spray and i want to do the Alan Mann colour sceme on it one day but i am stuck with the 16" wheels. I think the red and gold with those wheels will still look cool though and it'll be different! Yes that means the black beast will be up for grabs soon, so will probably advertise it soon It's not going on bloody ebay though.
Alan G Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Let me guess a 15" wheel won't fit over those HUGE brakes?? I like the look of the car, reminds me of a buddy of mines marky 1 cossy... He has to put 16's on it too because of the size of the brakes! He's got 16" escort cosworth wheels on it sprayed black... I think it suits it! Love the car Sam, wish you all the best with it!
Alan G Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 This is what I was on about.... You can see the car on that duke DVD - Fastest Fords!
sambo Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Cheers guys for the positive comments, i need it cos i must admit i am having second thoughts now! I love my black car and i am a tad nervous cos i havent seen he car much! Also some of the tuning parts are'nt what i'd of used but it's still all good. Still the seller is a top bloke and it's several steps closer to the beast that i want in my garage! Just out of interest what do you guys think it's worth, without the lump by looking at the pics and the spec ??????? Cheers all.
Alan G Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 It seems a good shell Sam, only thing I would probably change is the fact that it has FG bubbles... may tend to crack etc. we've heard all before! Not sure what it's worth although I did see a similar specced marky 1 cossied, Fibre glass bubbles, 2 bonnets - 1 FG, 1 steel, welded in 6 point cage, AP Racing's all round, buckets, extinuishers, 5 linked, coilovers all round, 2 cowl dash with elliot gauges, perspex windows and a good solid shell go for £9000... Just giving you a price to base yourself around!
sambo Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Cheers Alan, that was with the cossie lump though yes? Atlas axle? Where was that advertised too mate? Thanks Alan, should be getting it in a few weeks, if that. Just waiting for the money to come through.
Alan G Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Yeah, cossie lump and atlas axle with LSD! It was advertised on pistonheads I think although it went on ebay!
Jeff HPE Motorsport Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Hi mate, if its as good as it looks in the photo well done, you never did say what your paying for it..?? Jeff Harris...
sambo Posted May 30, 2007 Author Report Posted May 30, 2007 Right guys, tell me your thoughts..... We agreed on 6K for it without the zetec but with the rad, box and everything else on/in the car. All i have to do is bolt in another engine and im good to go. 4 speed quaife, 4.6 lsd atlas, n/a cossie mmmmmmmmmmm! What you guys think, a fair price or a bit steep??
Wessie Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 that doesnt sound a bad price i spose once ya sell black beauty that would give ya a few more pennies
Gareth Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 It's a shame you've gotta sell the black beastie Sam m8 But, it'll be worth it when you're worrying Porshes
Pye Man Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 Like the new motor mate. Looks like one hell of a beast Same about the black beauty going
Guest MK1gaz Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 £6000 is a good price mate plus the black one will fetch a few bob anyway
