My front struts have been described a "wedged" roll top Bilsteins by its previous owner, I've no idea what springs are on it, but I'd really like to know what "wedged" means

Thats a wedged strut mate, it's when you weld little steel triangular bits to the bottom of the strut to add strength.

 

All I know is i've written up a huge list for my mk1 capper and I don't know what half of it does
