Mk 1 Mark Posted August 13, 2006 Author Report Posted August 13, 2006 im tempted, i'll just have to convince the doris. is it a motel ya've found or a campsite? i think mi standard 1.1 could hack it, dont you? The place i have found is a new Hotel that only opened when i was out there last and is perfect And your 1.1 should make it,But driving there in it might be hard as i struggled to keep up with the people i went with... Most people want to give it some
erick Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Might be up for this let you know nearer the time, hopefully have a mk1 escort by then.
Mk 1 Mark Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 Right Below is a few links for the nurburging inc ferry prices,Where to stay,And dates the track is open to the public. Easter seem to be good as its good friday and back holiday monday. Could Leave Thurday 5th and return Monday 9th. Accomodation is usually fully booked around this time so the sooner we all book the better. Eurostar is the way to go,Drive on drive of...And you car is not left unattended Pictures of where we stayed here http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/ ... d26a5a.jpg HOTEL GARNI LANDHANS BALKENHAUSEN BALKHAUSENWEG 3 D-53520 NURBURG TELEPHONE 0049(0)2651604 Or 0049(0)26568436 info@nuerburgring-balkhausen.com INH Gerlinde and karl-heinz Retterath We paid 18 Euro`s to stay there But i think it was meant to be 36 euro`s And as i said excellent accomodation and people running it. http://www.nuerburgring.de/ http://nurburgring.org.uk/ferrydeals.html http://nurburgring.org.uk/where_to_stay.html http://www.ringhaus.com/calendar/week.php?date=20070806
Kieran Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Look out for Cossymax and everyone else here www.nuerburgring.de/fileadmin/webcam/webcam.jpg
yellowperil Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Been thinking of doing this for ages, see you've found Ben lovejoys site, everyone should check that out. Gonna have a think about going and let you know soon.
Mk 1 Mark Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Posted August 15, 2006 Got a few choices really but was thinking of travelling Thurday morning on Eurostar and driving all the way there. Or leave later thursday evening and staying in the F1 hotel in france and then drive from there early friday? And a choice of a few return dates but i was thinking of getting the 7pm train back from calais. I have already reserved 5 rooms for the group of us that went this year
DeuceCoupe Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 I would be up for that all depends if I have another engine in my car and if my ex could have the kids otherwise i'd have to take them and that wouldn't be much fun unless i get the dvd players for the car to keep them quiet. You know what kids are like on long journeys. Are we nearly there
Raw Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 There has been talk of us here going to The Ring since last year. But because its such a long jounery for us we will go over for a week or so. Ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg (500miles to Nurburging). Might stay around France for the rest of the time. With that plan in mind we might go a bit later in the year as the weather would be better. This trip will also have to be arranged around Santa Pod, as we are defo going next year, we badly missed it this year. OSF meet later in the month and this will be discussed. Any ideas from the Irish side
Mk 1 Mark Posted September 7, 2006 Author Report Posted September 7, 2006 Nice As i said before the more the merrier,I have already reserved 5 rooms And i cant wait to get there again,Was even thinking of leaving wednesday now ...so we have thur/fri/sat/sun/mon... But its early days atm....But at least accomodation is sorted i would suggest that everyone sorts out accomodation early, As it does get fully booked this time of year The main reason we go the France, belguim, holland germany route it is very open,no toll roads..And loads of fun... As for staying in france there are loads of F1 hotels that you can reserve before hand But from ireland im sure its much easier for you to go that Route
RETRO_AL Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 i may well be up for this, car should be done aswell
