BIGKEV Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 how funny it would be if all sat nav systems in cars just stopped working all at once what would happen ..... Ever noticed how the people who use sat navs havent got a scooby about there surroundings they just follow there little screen till they get where they want to go .. if it went off people wouldnt know where they were cos no-one looks where they are going ....... Towns would become gridlocked People will be freaking out on every road in the uk A-Z sales would skyrocket Well i think it would be cool
flyingbanana Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 well being a lorry driver and having my sat nav nicked...i just went stright back to the easy normal way.....looking at the poxy map
105Nick Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 There was a thing ini the paper about how reliable sat nav is. One guy went to pick someone up and went his usual route, but it told him to turn before he got to the black wall tunnel, took him round on a detour and told him to drive straight ahead .... into the Thames!!!!! My bro and his workmate went up north to a conference, my brother using his map and his mate with sat nav .... his mate turned up 3hrs late cos the sat nav kept shouting wen he went to turn off the motorway
orionmojo Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 i like he way people seem to think the motorways have always been there. when they're gridlocked tey just sit in it and wait i dot have sat nav- i dot want one eiter, (one of those camera thingys might me useful though) anyway- i just have a map (RAC 2003 edition ) and blast my way around the outside on the A roads

Pipster007 Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 I only ever use a map or print off from www.multimap.com None of this modern sat-nav for me. Old Skool map reading for an Old Skool car
1uk3m4n Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 i have a sat nav and have never got lost but i do take it where im going is very handy if your some where you dont no and need a petrol station just type it in and it will take you to the closest one
Dom Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 The worst you can do is use a route finder or autoroute, it's amazing how many people rely on them because if you get lost from them you don't have a scooby where you are! Maps are best, that way you can plan a more exciting route
