with the large amount iron work these cars have they last longer than many other forms of historic motorsport and these guy love mint classic's as much as us so wont race the good ones(in most cases) :? , its just another part of motorsport history that ford's have a big part in and were top :ykt: dont mean to rant but this is part of my roots and got me into fords.

Most of these people probably have no idea how the classic Ford market has gone over the last 18 months and what cars are worth now...

If they had they wouldnt be tracking a 2 door MkI 'tina thats for sure....

Most were probably too far gone to be restored anyway!

DAMN someone has already done a Paul Tegardine copy! That would have been my choice.

Whats happened to the Old Skool Ford classic hot rod?

belive you me the 4 door mk1 cortina shell I sold to an east angliaed stock car boy last year was as rotton as a chip

but as they put 100's of meter's of 2"x 2" box steel a rotten floor sill etc is nothing to worry about

still got £150.00 for a rotton shell tho

i bet you like watching F1 on a sunday afternnon with a nice cup of cocoa, watching no overtaking, no daring moves, no neck and neck 3 wide racing etc . . . . .

you dont feel the atmosphere, you dont smell the tyre smoke, you dont feel the rumble of the engines watching sh#t racing like F1 on TV, get down to an oval track and experience proper racing

DONT KNOCK OVAL RACING TILL YA TRYED IT :x im off to load my racecar for tomorow :ykt:

In my opinion

F1 or any circuit based single seat racing

Best driver/car combo qualified on pole race starts driver p1sses off in distance wins race gets girl lives in tax haven drives 1k car and walks around like James bond KNOB

Oval racing

Best car/driver combo starts LAST and in some cases like 1300 stock cars has 50 cars to pass to win to fooked to get girl after 30 laps of mayhem lives in garage drives his diesel transit tow van and walks around like a dog with two cocks as

HE IS THE MAN

nuff said

we would all like to think that only the rotboxes are used, but like in banger racing, most are looking for the most solid cars they can,and 'some' are not to fussy how they come by them. :?

Love them pics, Oval racing is the closest form of motorsport without doubt and certainly takes tremendous skill to master,

once built the cars are proper solid soo in many cases will last longer than rally cars that have to be re-shelled after every major crash. so not a waste at all.

seeing old cars in bangers is a bit of a love / hate thing i personally love seeing classics make their final trip in style rather than being 'pressed' straight away which is what would happen.

But everyone has their own opinions

wessie you dont even know me so dont pretend like you do, im not an f1 fan more rally and endurance for a start, i have tried racing but i prefer the mechanics behind it thats why im at uni doing a motorsport engineering degree so i think i can say what i think motorsport is or isnt in this case

i dont think its motorsport as its an oval so it only has 2 corners which go the same way, granted its a foot in the door if you want to try racing but in my opinion its just people shunting other people which doesnt really qualify as being proper overtaking. its only an opinion why are people taking it to heart?

NASCAR obviously isnt motorsport either then?? after all its run predominantly on ovals.

If oval racing isnt motorsport because its run on an oval does that mean that any horse racing where the turns are all right isnt really horse racing?? and any running competion on a running track isnt really running because they only turn left? :?

Is it because an oval only has 2 obvious corners or because they both go the same way??
