xpackken Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 ive decided to do work for myself plus i fell out with the boss yesterday . i made a hasty decsition realy .only problem is im skint as foook and have alot to pay out only option is realy to sell my car but i dont want to . wtf should i do if i do sell project pearl how much am i likely to get for it because maybe i can put the money in to the 24v tickford replica ive been working on .if i have some left . _________________ Arthritis Forum

bmxdave Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I heard you talking about leaving on sunday. I reckon setting yourself up is the best thing you could ever do. Something ive always wanted to do myself. And even if your only involved on osf cars alone, theres still a massive market out there. Then you can consider other classics and minor repairs to regular cars and if your works top notch youll always have a que waiting at your door. If you ever need a hand with anything please just ask, and id never expect anything in return. I cant spray, never tried, but i can do very basic prepping an filler work, but if its any help to you im here In the meantime id try to get something that just pays for now until your back on your feet. Waiter or bar work, shopwork, anything. Theres nothing wrong with being a cleaner or anything like that if your just sorting yourself out. If you can, go for the mobile repairs you mentioned above. At least itd pay decent. Even Halfrauds would do. Money is money at the end of the day.

Well done. I did the same about ten years ago. After the initial "WTF do I do?" I decided to freelence in the motor industry. Worked for a few race teams, a few colleges, myself, Prodrive, Hot Rod shop in the US and lots more. Saw the world at someone else's expense. Ended up far better off than working for my old boss, though after ten years absence I'm back working for him now(!) Oh, I had young kids too, and they've both grown up as total petrol heads. DO IT!
