escyestate Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Old people should not be allowed to drive on the road, I was in a petrol garage today in the estate and a old git in a mondeo drove straight into the front of me. Got out the car went to his door and opened it ready to throw the first punch and realised he was nearly dead any way, with tubes out of his nose and a breathing bag on his lap. Showed him the damage he had done, while grabbing him I could hear him breathing very heavily and felt him shaking. Done what we had to do and sent him on his way. Just got the car looking half decent and some old fart does that. What a pisser
RFChris Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I'm sorry? The old boy needs assistance to breathe....but he's allowed to drive a car? Thats not fooking right, thats not. Hope the damage wasn't to bad. Chris

escyestate Posted August 28, 2006 Author Report Posted August 28, 2006 It is his fault, if he cant breath properly he shouldnt be driving. i know its sad, i did feel realy guilty but when someone drives straight into your pride and joy without looking where he's going while your filling it up with petrol, you tend to loose your tempor!
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Sorry to hear that mate. Hope the damage isn't too bad! I can actually believe that, & I will sound harsh here but, they should not be driving! I like old people, don't get me wrong, but their standard of driving really does leave alot to be desired. My mate saw a good'un yesterday. Old popper was waiting to pull out at a T junction, & there was a brand spanking M3 convertible behind him. The oldie obviously couldn't balance the clutch (not that you should partake in this behaviour) and every time he revved up, the car went backwards. (He was on a slight slope) Anyway, he went back into the beemer. There was then a gap in the traffic & off he went on his merry way not knowing what he had done. The M3 driver was fuming as you would expect, he was also tooting his horn, but had to give chase!!! I also heard that the police are getting new powers to test eye sight at the side of the road if they pull you over. The reason they are obtaining this new power, is because of all the oldies crashing into things!!! Can't be a bad thing I suppose.
Twinkle Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 it may even be that the old fella had no licence should of called the police!! there are a lot out there that ignore the fact they have had their licence revoked due to medical reason and still drive! had an elderly lady round here recently pull onto a dual carriage way the wrong way into the path of a motorcyclist and killed him instantly. she had already been caught several times without a licence.
Cookie Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 while grabbing him I could hear him breathing very heavily and felt him shaking. I feel for you that your car was damaged and can understand you are pissed off as i would of been, have been in similar situatioin myself about 5 years back, but im sorry but you can't go around just 'grabbing elderly people, i tell you now if that had been my nan or grandad there would be fookin hell to pay or if i was out and seen someone doing the 'grabbing' of an oap i would be bang on there case no if, buts or excuses it's not on!
Tigran Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Agree with cookie - they are the most annoying people on this King earth but the majority payed their debt to society a long long time ago and deserve better. Still reckon they shouldn't be anywhere near anything with an internal combustion engine though.
mk3tina Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 not just internal combustion engines, those electric shopmobility quads that they go tearing around in like hooligans ive been in many situations where they just use them to shove through crowds catching your t shirt and bags etc, i do agree grabbing the guy was a bit out of order, i mean the world is a shit enough place for them anyway with the kids of today terrorising them when they leave their homes, and the constant reports of oap's getting mugged and battered to hell for their pensions
105Nick Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Saturday aft6ernoon was hilarious, coming through Gillingham I came round the corner to find a red light and an old geezer shuffling out onto the crossing in front of me, my old tortise was a demon compared to this guy and his stick. I was gonna get out and help, but then what can you do, Ive seen him before and you can';t exactly lift the guy to the side of the road, he'd probably think I was trying to mug him and beat me with his stick. I saw three green lights pass before he managed to get two thirds across, by which time I just steered around him and took off. I even switched the engine off at one point and just sat there with my heard in my hands
escyestate Posted August 29, 2006 Author Report Posted August 29, 2006 its not like i grabbed him round the neck or anything, i had hold of his arm with no force. i do realy feel bad but i was not thinking straight.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Ok, old people can be bad drivers, but my dad's 73 and he's pretty good. He doesn't potter around and hasn't ever crashed into anyone. Not all oldies are bad. So don't diss the old crumblies. They might get their own back.
Burns Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 haha, i've come along a few bad oldie drivers in my time, just went round them. im my experience they just drive slow (20 in a 60 limit) should bring in a driving test every 25 years or so, would get a lot of them off the road if they can't pass a driving test for any reason ps. hope ur car's alright man
mk2_escort_chick Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 If someone had done that to dean's estate I'd of gone nuts...he's the calm one in our relationship. Your estate is rather nice-we spotted you a few weeks ago. How much damage is there???? x
