Whats the fastest you've ever been in a car?

Theres a lot of private roads around. Id love to find one.

 

I had 101 on my satnav in the triumph, thats at 6000 revs. If it had overdrive it wouldve probably had 115 or more. I did work it out once. And it pulled bloody quick up to a ton.

 

Ive sat on the back of my dads bike doing 140 though.

162 in my mates M5 bmw,he had the limiter removed & we had to test it 165 on on a fireblade. Both on tracks

Roughly 150 in a new Mustang at Bruntingthorpe. Not driving though.

 

Had 135 out of my 2.6 Vectra (on the clock anyway ) also on a private stretch.

175 in my blitz tuned scooby many times on the german autobhan. Still got tranced by amg mercs and schnitzer beemers though o_O Drove it offroad through the german forests lots too

had 110 out of the escy screaming its arse off. been upto about 160 mph in my dads mates old 1950s fordson van fitted with a blown big block called mr torquer , private roads of course. scary scary stuff.

95 in the cortina before i changed the filter etc.

 

120 in a volvo 460 gl in metallic beige and

 

170 in a diablo vt but i was a passenger that was at the classic car show for the dream rides

Had the Escort off the clock... prob around 115 and stil had rpm to spare

 

Had my Focus at 143MPH on GPS

178mph in my m8 hippies mk1 cossie(private road of course)on gps sat nav.160 in mine tho.although it feels like 260 in any escort to be fair

155mph in my dads BMW 760Li.

 

Obviously would have gone a lot quicker, but its limited.

 

Rarely see them on the road, then again I'm not suprised with that kind of engine size!

Topped out the RS all the time on the daily hack and I have been personally 138 in a renault chamade with me driving private road of course and a Mate took his Astra Mk2 GTE up to 147 on a single road in cumbria from the top of a hill where the TV Transmitter at Caldbeck i think all the way down to the bottom ( a very long way )

anyway that was at 1am with 4 crossroads to cross.

 

 

I can tell you that at one point i did think that I would be scraped off some road and it was the most thrilling experience I have ever had in a car.

i have done about 125 in a courtesy car megane

 

my friend had a mondeo diesel courtesy car that was often going as fast as it could about 135

 

the fastest i have been was in the same friends impreza doing 145 but it had a fault and would not go any faster

167mph recorded on a calibrated system which is good enough for court. Not a sat nav system.

I was doing 120mph in my ex's Saff Cossie before I chickened out My brother Pudge got tugged and banned for 35 days doing 115mph down the M5. He claims he was slowing down from 145mph in the company car

136mph in a Golf Gti, on the M20 between J1 and 2, in fact it was on the stretch just behind Brands Hatch.

168 using GPS in a TVR (abroad) & 191 on the rev limiter in a bike shoot out at Bruntingthorpe, waiting for the 200+ shootout invite with new gearing, rubber undercrackers and NOS.....

 

On UK roads?.... no comment
