escortmad79 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 This has been running around for a while. My Mk1 Estate is a very tidy example in a rare colour. I have a massive dilemma, do I leave it standard (As per the request of the people I bought it from & a few people have told me to do) & look for a 2 door saloon or do I modify it (Not to excess as originally planned with a Cossie lump it's far too good to cut up), just lower it, 1700 crossflow on 45s, Lotus steelies etc) http://www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbum.jsp?Memb ... 5220360793 Hopefully that'll take you to a load of pics to show you how tidy it is! Over to you.... Standard or Modify?
fezza Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Modify mate, like the sound of your plans Very tidy car by the way
marky4 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 lowered, hot x flow and some steels it will look the nuts it's not like you are doing any thing that can't be put back to standard and besides it's your car do what you want to it

surfingturnip Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 it can all be put back to standard in the future if it has to be. do it! you know you want to!
Toby Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Start with a little lowering - it will soon get out of hand.

Pipster007 Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Mod it.....................Modern traffic has sped up since the 70's, so you may aswell make the 70's stuff keep up with it now
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 you wouldnt ask if you didnt want to mod it go for it you know it makes sense
escortmad79 Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 As much as I love Mk1s I'm not raping it Darren!
sparkycapri Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 it's got to be modded! i think most would agree there not that exiting in standard form.
Admin Vista Posted September 29, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 29, 2007 Definitely mod it, but I'd go with the sleeper look, much like Deltamals cosworth Mk3 tina that still sports 1.3L badges. Keep it looking as stock as possible but with plenty of attitude under the surface, wolf in sheeps clothing type thing. Most saxo kids have got wise to being smoked at the lights by a hot looking mk1, but they won't expect it from one that looks like a boggo estate.
escortmad79 Posted September 29, 2007 Author Report Posted September 29, 2007 It'll be kept looking fairly standard, maybe just a set of quarter bumpers
Guest MK1gaz Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Drop it on 13's with a barking pushrod or pinto for some proper oldskool power and attitude
