Will be using a kent A2 cam which is a copy of the old cosworth A2 cam to the best of my knowlage . I missed a holbay R120 x flow cam on fleebay a week or 2 ago which i would liked to have.

I inherited a pre-crossflow with an A2 in it years ago, it had a BVH and was ok!

I built a crossflow with STD valves home ported mainly around the seats and 1300 pistons in a 1660cc and it was impressive!!

My point is that cams for the road have improved over the years and therefore I would recommend a 234 over an A2.

I run a steel Kent cam in my pre-crossflow for durability (as recommended by Aaron @ HT Racing) because it's a few up on a 234 and the rapid valve lifts of modern cams put a lot of pressure on the lobes / followers.

As a side issue I used to run GTX magnatec and did cam lobes on two different cams (254's). I then went to a steel cam and Valvoline 20-50 and the problem seems to have gone away - oh famous last words!

When i had my head done the engineer had a Crane cam which i tried, but it was to lairy for the road,so fitted a fr33 kent & did'nt run it in properly & it wore two of the lobes flat in 50miles  ,so now have a kent HT1 that has proved to be a really good cam for the spec of my engine
