It seems that Piper and Kent have cornered the market with the OSF fraternity .... so, out of interest ... what cam do you have and why did you go for that one??

Kent RL31, recommended by engine builder as being what I wanted when I described my needs.

 

i.e. Good power output without needing enormous revs, and plenty of low down torque.

 

Here's the figures it produced at the wheels (with other mods obviously)

 

3000rpm 80bhp

4000rpm 118bhp

5000rpm 148bhp

6000rpm 167bhp

Kent FR32 coz I actually wanted a Piper 285 as in my old Pinto's Mk2 Tina but couldn't get one quick enough so went for the FR32 instead. (Similar spec) :)

Will be using a kent A2 cam which is a copy of the old cosworth A2 cam to the best of my knowlage . I missed a holbay x flow cam on fleebay a week or 2 ago which i would liked to have.

 

used to buy regrinds of these for 35 quid a go, ive still got contact details if yer interested and the guy still does em :wink:

 

i used FR32 on recomendation, its a bit mild, RL31 will be next.

Me grandad uses the ht 1 from kent a lot of the time it's a good all rounder and has had an 12.0 sec quarter out of it :thumbsup:

Used Kent 244 in my x/flow as engine builder uses them, think he makes his own profiles or modifies them :? donno but i know there was a kent 244 on the bill :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

mines standard cam but looking for a good cam so will see what you lot seem to go for :thumbsup:

at the moment its standard but im putting a kent 234 cos kent seem to have a better rep then piper plus i got mine in a full kit off ebay for £140 brand new :lol:
