surfingturnip Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 right, I was bored and had access to my somewhat warped imagination and photoshop. When I can eventually afford to buy a car I quite fancy giving this a go. Please give me your opinions and many appologiess for the shoddy photoshopping
antz Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 my car has a red xpack i like the ideas but not my car
Trevmk3 Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 i thought when i saw it, "thats Antz car"
Admin Vista Posted November 21, 2007 Admin Report Posted November 21, 2007 Different, how would you deal with the fact that the rear doors open in the middle of the X - pack?
Twinkle Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Different, how would you deal with the fact that the rear doors open in the middle of the X - pack? could either be cut along the door opening and then fibreglass a return in back to the original door and door shut
over_head_cam Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Honestly? I can't see it myself, but it's your idea for your car that really counts
escamino Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Seen it done before up at the Chelsea cruise, so it's possible. Didn't look that bad actually.
mk1super Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Nah! I'd go proper street sleeper style sorted engine standard looks, then take it to the pod and shock people
Toby Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Very imaginative Very amusing Don't cut the rear arch, that would be sacralage , Just have a really long rear door - oh yes!! Good colour match too! Stop now it's hurting
Toby Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I hope I haven't been too offensive. Sorry!
antz Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 antz... pink fluffy dice? they have always been there they were my dads back in the 1980s and were originally red they faded badly and i robbed them for mine cos its a proper 'bo mod innit mate!
hotrodholty Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 if ye gonna do it, 2 door the car, weld up the rears and then fit the kit. but personally id leave it lookin stock, but on the floor with some nice wheels. but hey, each to there own mate, its your car
antz Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 i just gotta say one thing here....before i start no offence to anyone or their opinions..... why does everyone always say something along the lines of 'its a 4 door it should be a sleeper' its looknig down on them i feel.....what is wrong with the idea of a xpack or forest arched 4 door???....it can be done and just cos it has 2 more doors i dont see how people can look down on it it just gets annoying the way 4 doors are looked down upon and should 'be sleepers' all the time its like thats all the 4 door is good enough to be.

antz Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 in austraila you could buy a 4door rs2k its just sooooo annoying the way that 4 doors get lookd down upon it makes you feel inferior to those with 2 doors. i even heard one guy say this about my car when it was in the garage 'have you seen that mk2 escort? its well nice.....shame its a 4 door though' this may sound like sour grapes and yeh it is a bit but its generally as a whole....i dont see the problem with a 4 door xpack....dare to be different!
hotrodholty Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 in austraila you could buy a 4door rs2k ! smart arse
bomber1 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 if its done nicley it should look cool. tbh u want to de handle the rear doors imo go for it then u can do mine
antz Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 in austraila you could buy a 4door rs2k ! smart arse
Stu_B Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Nothing wrong with the shape of a mk2 - why would you want to stick an arch kit on!? Less is more...
surfingturnip Posted November 22, 2007 Author Report Posted November 22, 2007 Very amusing Good colour match too! I wasn't going for a colour match I was bored and it seemed an interesting way to spend my time. So generally the idea is no then..................oooookay, I personally like the idea and might well pursue it in the future. Either that or a 4 door droop snoot rs2000 rep.
surfingturnip Posted November 22, 2007 Author Report Posted November 22, 2007 if ye gonna do it, 2 door the car, weld up the rears and then fit the kit. but personally id leave it lookin stock, but on the floor with some nice wheels. but hey, each to there own mate, its your car the problem with that is I actually want a 4 door. And they pretty much always end up looking strange when they're finnished so I'd get slated for that
