Gibson Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 mk1 fiestas were bulit in the mid 70s simple really... as long as its run Started before and including 1979 then they are oldskool.... the fiesta only just makes it due too still having the spirit of the OSF but it defintily drives the wrong set of wheels and the engine is the wrong way round....
Fiesta Steve Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 (yeah, just how is the Mk1 Fiesta old skool and the Mk3 Escort isn't?! ) ok, for the last time ( ) The Mk1 comes with proper 13" RS 4 spoke wheels and has a proper oldskool x-flow etc etc... Its just got the right look that no Mk3 Escort ever had.

LOL we love a bit of banter here mate next question for you to ask is 'is a cosworth an old skool?' (runs as fast as my big fat legs will carry me for cover ) welcome to the site anyway mate, oh and by the way i luuuuuuuuuuuuuvvvvv a mk3 XR3, bring back tons of good times, one day i shall have another for sure

Guest Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 what does YFKT mean then so i know what your all talking about
Rick Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 maybe one of you moderators should email every new member with your 'fiesta's but no xr3i's' rule just to start them off on the right foot. seems daft to me, why not just give them their own small room like the rest of the cars
Guest Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 You Fu**ing Know That thanks m8 i know what it means now!!
Fiesta Steve Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 seems daft to me, why not just give them their own small room like the rest of the cars Because we would have to change the name of the site from 'oldskool ford' to 'anyold fords' . It just ain't got the same ring to it m8, and besides there a loads of forums that cater for all the more modern Fords out there.
DEP Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 We will never stop owners of RSTs, Sierra Cossies and mk3 Fiestas etc joining up and using the site, afterall its a free forum, but one thing is for sure you will never see one of the above on a OSF stand at any show. Let the debate continue
Guest Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 i didnt mean this to happen i just wanted to know if ti was or wasnt i dont want people to full out about it i just wished i didnt say anything now what a fluffy bunny,
Fiesta Steve Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 i didnt mean this to happen i just wanted to know if ti was or wasnt i dont want people to full out about it i just wished i didnt say anything now what a fluffy bunny, lol, chill dude No ones falling out (yet )
DEP Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Your not a fluffy bunny mate, far from it,everyone has different ideas on what is old skool, and what is nt i m sure its been said somewhere in this post before,This is what the majority of people on here want, 50 s,60 s,70 s Fords. you are not the first, nor will you be the last to ask the question.
Guest Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 thanks peeps just didnt know were to put my self thats all, thanks anyway!!
mista weava Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 there is nothing wrong with the mk3 escort, and it has an old skool appeal to it imo. the difference between the mk3 escort and the mk1 fiesta will always be this: the mk3 escort killed off the rwd escorts. the mk1 fiesta was a whole new idea. the mk3 will always be vilified by many as the car that knocked one of the all time fave drivers cars of its perch.
Doc Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggHH Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo they are not !
Wessie Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 everyone is welcome on the site but OSF's are the ones in the banner at the top of the page IMO ! please fell free to tell me if im wrong . . . Lets End This Debate NOW!
100ejohn Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 jb in light of what steve and dave said i remember all your old skool fords and most of my knowledge has come from you i remember the old mk2 escort and i would add everybody that i got him back into fords after his miserable time with r*vers(sorry for the swear word).weather or not its old skool welcome to the site jb and enjoy the blue oval again:wink:
Mark2Mark Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Welcome mate, nevermind if it is an old skool ford or not, It is old and it is a ford and you are on this website so i take it you have a passion for cars thats all that matters I had a series 1 turbo before my anglebox it was great! Here is an interesting one if the mk3 was correct wheel drive would we be having this debate?
BIG G Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I do like a mk3 XR3 i had one turned out to be a ringer proper gutted young and stupid...went like stink. It was cars like the mk1 gti that killed the rwd drive escort ford were just keeping up with the times thats all.deffo better than any french junk of that time. but as to if its old skool or not........................fook RIGHT OFF.......... welcome to osf mate we all love fords well some fords anyway
